And the king said to Hazael,“ Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying,‘ shall I recover from this disease?’”

王命哈薛曰、爾攜禮物、往迎上帝僕、託之詢於耶和華、我病得愈否、

王諭哈泄曰、爾攜禮物、往見上帝之僕、請彼問耶和華我疾得愈否。

he said to Hazael,“ Take a gift with you and go to meet the man of God. Consult the Lord through him; ask him,‘ Will I recover from this illness?’”

Then the king said to Hazael,“ Take a gift with you. Go and see the man of God. Ask him for the Lord’ s advice. Ask him whether I will get well again.”

And the king said to Hazael,“ Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying,‘ Will I recover from this sickness?’ ”

And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thy hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Jehovah by him, saying, Shall I recover of this sickness?

So the king said to Hazael,“ Take a gift with you and go meet the man of God. Inquire of the Lord through him,‘ Will I recover from this sickness?’”

And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?

So the king told Hazael,“ Take a gift and go visit the prophet. Request from him an oracle from the LORD. Ask him,‘ Will I recover from this sickness?’”

The king said to Hazael,“ Take a present in your hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Yahweh by him, saying,‘ Will I recover from this sickness?’”

Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria, and was injured; so he sent messengers and said to them,“ Go, inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this injury.”

Then the Lord said to him:“ Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.

Then Saul said to his servant,“ But look, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread in our vessels is all gone, and there is no present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?”

It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.

Then the king of Syria said,“ Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing.

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”And Jehoshaphat said,“ The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.Then Elisha said to the king of Israel,“ What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him,“ No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

So they said to him,“ A man came up to meet us, and said to us,‘ Go, return to the king who sent you, and say to him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”’ ”

Then one said to Him,“ Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them,

And he brought them out and said,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam became sick.And Jeroboam said to his wife,“ Please arise, and disguise yourself, that they may not recognize you as the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Indeed, Ahijah the prophet is there, who told me that I would be king over this people.Also take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him; he will tell you what will become of the child.”And Jeroboam’s wife did so; she arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were glazed by reason of his age.
