They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal.

They turned away from all the commands of the Lord their God. They made two statues of gods for themselves. The statues were shaped like calves. They made a pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. They bowed down to all the stars. And they worshiped the god named Baal.

And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of two calves; and they made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.

They rejected all the commands of the Lord their God and made two calves from metal. They set up an Asherah pole and worshiped Baal and all the forces of heaven.

復建父希西家所毀之邱壇、亦為巴力設壇、亦立亞舍拉、效以色列王亞哈所為、又崇拜奉事天之萬象、天之萬象原文作天之眾軍下同

亞哈亦作亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶亞哈所行、干主以色列天主之怒、較前之以色列諸王尤甚、

行惡於主前、效其父之所為、並效其母之所為、昔尼八子耶羅波安使以色列人陷於罪、彼亦效其所為、

其母母或作祖母瑪迦為亞舍拉作偶像、故貶其太后之位、斫其偶像、焚於汲淪溪濱、

國民往巴力殿、拆殿及其中諸壇、又碎其諸偶像、將巴力之祭司馬坦殺於壇前、祭司耶何耶大遂在主殿設守殿之官、

作偶像者悉為虛妄、其所慕者無益、可自為證、彼不見不知、必致羞愧、誰作神像、鑄無益之偶像、

亞倫由其手受之、以鑄犢、以鑿修之成形、民彼此云、以色列人歟、此即導爾出伊及之神、

擲於地、為日月及天上眾星所照、或作陳列於日月及天之眾星前日月眾星、即彼昔所愛所奉所向所拜者、其骨不殮不葬、必在地視為糞壤、

烈火燒其黨羽、火焰焚燬惡人、民在何烈、鑄造牛犢、崇拜所鑄之形像、以囓草蠢牛之像、當作其榮耀之主、

在各高岡上、各茂樹下、立柱像與亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶

速離我所命之之道、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、且云以色列人歟、此即導爾出伊及之神、

耶戶集民眾謂之曰、亞哈奉事巴力、尚未甚殷勤、耶戶將事之更殷勤、今我欲獻大祭於巴力、當集巴力之眾先知、與一切事巴力者、及其眾祭司、不遺一人、有不至者必殺毋赦、耶戶行此、以設詭計、欲滅事巴力之人、耶戶曰、當宣告大會、崇拜巴力、遂宣告焉、耶戶遣人遍行以色列地、使所有事巴力者咸集、不遺一人、眾入巴力殿、自前至後、人充塞於巴力殿、耶戶命掌禮服者曰、爾攜禮服、使拜巴力者衣之、遂攜禮服予之、耶戶與利甲子約拿達入巴力殿、耶戶謂拜巴力者曰、爾當遍察、視在此有主之僕否、因此中但容事巴力之人、於是進前獻火焚祭與別類祭品、耶戶先伏四十人於殿外、告之曰、我以此眾付爾手、如有一人逃免、誰使之逃命、誰必喪命、獻火焚祭畢、耶戶命奔走者及諸軍長曰、入而殺之、勿容其一人出、奔走者及軍長、以刃殺盡拜巴力之人、以屍擲於殿外、出殿、乃往巴力殿之城巡察、以巴力殿中諸偶像、攜之出而焚之、毀巴力像、拆巴力殿、作為厠所、至於今日、於是耶戶滅巴力於以色列中、
