『你們要靜止勿動，要知道是我、上帝、要在列國中被尊為至高，在全地上被尊為高超。萬軍之永恆主和我們同在；雅各的上帝是我們的高壘。（細拉）

和他同在的、是血肉之手臂；而和我們同在的、乃是永恆主我們的上帝，在幫助我們，打我們的仗。』眾民因猶大王希西家的話就覺得有恃無懼了。

只是你們不可背叛永恆主，也不要怕那地的人民，因為他們是我們所可喫的；並且蔭庇他們的已經離開他們，而永恆主卻和我們同在；不要怕他們。』

人仰望永恆主，靜默等候他的救恩，真好啊！

既然如此，對這些事我們可怎麼說呢？上帝若為我們，誰能敵我們呢？

萬族之民哪，明白吧，你們終必驚慌；遠地之眾民哪，側耳以聽哦！束起腰吧，你們終必驚慌；束起腰吧，你們終必驚慌。謀畫陰謀吧，終必歸於失敗；一言言定吧，終必不能成立；因為上帝與我們同在。

要尋求良善，別尋求壞事，好得活着！這樣，永恆主萬軍之上帝就照你們所說的、與你們同在。

又纏住他們的車輪，使車行走重難，以致埃及人說：『我們從以色列人面前逃跑吧；因為永恆主為他們爭戰、攻打埃及人了。』

因為主永恆主以色列之聖者這麼說：『你們之得救、在乎歸回與安靜；你們之得力、在於寧靜與信靠。』你們逕自不肯；

『看吧，那童女必懷孕生子；人必給他起名叫「以馬內利」』；以馬內利翻譯出來就是「上帝與我們同在」。

願主與你的靈同在！願恩惠與你們同在！

因為埃及的幫助是徒然而空洞的；故此我稱牠為「坐而不動的拉哈伯」。

眾人一開始歡呼頌讚的時候，永恆主就派伏兵擊殺那來攻打猶大人的亞捫人、摩押人和西珥山人；他們就被擊敗了。因為亞捫人和摩押人起來，擊殺了住西珥山的人，將他們殺滅歸神、而除滅掉：他們把西珥居民滅盡了之後，竟又彼此助長以相除滅。
