『要趁永恆主可找到時尋找他，趁他相近時呼求他。

猶大眾人為了所起的誓而歡喜；因為他們全心地起誓，全意地尋求永恆主，永恆主就給他們尋見，並且使他們四境得享平靜。

那素來沒有求問我的、我都準備着讓他們尋求到了；那沒有尋找我的、我都準備着讓他們找到了。那沒有呼求我名的國、我都對他們說：看哪，我在這裏！我在這裏！我整天伸開着手招呼倔強悖逆的人民，就是隨自己的意圖行不善的路的；

但你們必從那裏尋求永恆主你的上帝；你若全心全意地尋找他，就會找着。日後你在患難中、這些事都找到你身上來的時候，你就必回歸永恆主你的上帝，聽他的聲音；

『來吧，我們回歸於永恆主吧，因為他撕裂，他也必醫治我們；他擊傷，他也必給我們綁紮。

以色列人向永恆主哀呼說：『我們犯罪得罪了你了，因為我們離棄了我們的上帝，去服事眾巴力。』永恆主對以色列人說：『我豈沒有拯救了你們脫離埃及人和亞摩利人、亞捫人、和非利士人麼？西頓人、亞瑪力人、馬雲人、也都壓迫你們；你們向我哀叫，我也拯救你們脫離他們的手。你們竟離棄了我，去服事別的神；因此我不再拯救你們了。你們去向你們所選擇的神哀呼！讓他在你們遭遇患難時拯救你們吧。』以色列人對永恆主說：『我們犯了罪了：你看怎麼好就怎麼待我們吧；只求你今日援救我們好啦。』以色列人就從他們中間除掉外族人的神，而事奉永恆主；因以色列人所遭遇的患難，永恆主的心就很着急。

然而他聽見了他們的喊求時，就看到他們於急難中。

又有以賽亞放膽而說：『沒有尋求我的、我使他們遇見；沒有求問我的、我向他們顯現。』

以色列啊，你要回歸永恆主你的上帝，因為你是因你自己的罪孽而傾覆的。要帶着懺悔的話來回歸永恆主！對他說：『赦除一切罪孽哦！悅納善行哦！』那我們就獻上我們嘴脣之果實了。亞述不能拯救我們，駿馬我們必不再騎上；我們的手所造的我們必不再稱為「我們的上帝」，因為只有在你裏面孤兒得以找到憐憫。

以色列人向永恆主哀呼，永恆主就為以色列人興起了一位拯救者來拯救他們，就是迦勒的兄弟、那比他小的、基納斯的兒子俄陀聶。永恆主的靈感動他，他就作士師來拯救以色列；他出去爭戰，永恆主將亞蘭王古珊利薩田交在他手中，他的手就強過古珊利薩田。
