All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.

耶何耶大让民众和王与他一起立约，要做耶和华的子民。于是，民众出去拆毁了巴力庙，砸碎祭坛和偶像，在坛前杀了巴力的祭司玛坦。耶何耶大照大卫的吩咐让利未祭司负责耶和华殿里的事务。大卫曾吩咐利未祭司在耶和华的殿中司职，照摩西的律法向耶和华献燔祭，欢呼歌唱。耶何耶大还派门卫把守耶和华殿的各门，禁止一切不洁净的人入内。他率领百夫长、贵族、首领和全体民众护送王从耶和华的殿里下来，经上门进入王宫，拥立王登上王位。民众都欢喜快乐，城里安定，因为亚她利雅已死在刀下。

我没有在隐秘处暗暗地说话，我没有对雅各的后裔说，‘你们找不到我。’我耶和华宣扬真理，传讲正义。

我处在两难之间。我情愿离开世界，与基督在一起，那实在是再好不过了。

但祂若保持缄默，谁能定祂有罪？祂若掩起脸来，谁能看得见祂？个人和国家都靠祂垂顾，

你们和利未人以及住在你们中间的外族人，都要因你们的上帝耶和华赐给你们和你们家人的美物而欢喜快乐。

耶和华啊，我们等候你，遵从你的法令，我们心里渴慕尊崇你的名。

现在我决心要与以色列的上帝耶和华立约，好使祂的烈怒转离我们。

此后很长时间，耶和华使以色列人四境太平，没有战事。约书亚年事已高，

邦国与邦国、城邑与城邑互相攻击破坏，因为上帝用各样的灾难扰乱他们。

他便出来迎接亚撒，对他说：“亚撒啊，所有的犹大人和便雅悯人啊，请听我说！你们若顺从耶和华，祂必与你们同在。你们若寻求祂，祂必让你们寻见。你们若背弃祂，祂必离弃你们。

全体民众听到律法书上的话都哭了。尼希米省长、律法教师以斯拉祭司和教导民众的利未人对他们说：“今天是你们上帝耶和华的圣日，不要悲哀、哭泣。”

她的路上有福乐，她的道上有平安。

义人啊，你们要靠耶和华欢喜快乐；心地正直的人啊，你们都要欢呼。

我曾经起誓，我必信守诺言：我要遵行你公义的法令。

你的法度永远是我的宝贵产业，是我喜乐的泉源。
