王遣人召猶大耶路撒冷長老、及其兆民、祭司利未人、由尊逮卑、王入耶和華殿、誦殿中所得之約書、俾民咸聞、

大闢與諸千夫長、百夫長、武士長會議、

以利亞撒之後、其名最著者、較以大馬尤眾、在班列中、以利亞撒得十六人、以大馬惟八人。

大闢召以色列族眾、至耶路撒冷、舁耶和華匱、至所備之所。

大闢王告會眾曰、我子所羅門、尚在弱齡、上帝特遴選之、工作甚鉅、蓋殿非為人也、乃為上帝耶和華。

在大闢王、及撒督、亞希米勒、祭司利未族中最著者前、與同宗亞倫子孫掣籤。

告之曰、爾曹為利未族之最著者、爾與同宗當潔己、舁以色列上帝耶和華之匱、至我預備之所。
