天主既允我儕受福音之任、則我儕如是而言、不求悅於人、乃求悅於鑒察我心之天主、

吾儕既承天主不棄、托以福音、故惟知率直講道、不欲取悅於人、但欲取悅於洞察人心之天主而已。

On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.

In fact, it is just the opposite. God has approved us to preach. He has trusted us with the good news. We aren’t trying to please people. We want to please God. He tests our hearts.

我知上帝鑒察人心、真實無妄者、為爾所喜、我誠心樂輸、爾民亦從心所願而樂輸、我見之懽然欣喜。

爾試余心、中宵鑒斯、煉余若金、不可議斯、心與口應、靡不符斯。

勿效取悅於人者、第目前服役、必效基督僕、專心遵上帝志、

及時昭著、我奉救主上帝命、以傳斯道、

人當以我儕為基督執事、司上帝奧、所求於司者忠也、

棄陰私愧恥之事、不行詭譎、不混上帝道、惟表彰真理、質己於眾、在上帝前、

昔以善事托爾、當賴我中之聖神守之、

若爾於虛夸之財而不忠、誰以真者托爾耶、

且無為而為之、此吾所以自詡、有為而為之、則吾惟任其責、

然我在聖徒中、微而又微者也、上帝賜恩、使我於異邦中、傳基督之富有、人不可測、

提摩太乎、當守所托之命、棄妄論浮詞、偽為智慧之辯、

我耶和華鑒察人心、視人所行、而加報施。

吾不以私智婉言、惟以聖神之良能傳道、令爾有信、不以人之智、惟以上帝之能、

僕當萬事順其主、勿效取悅於人者、第目前服役、必誠心畏上帝、

耶和華上帝乎、爾以生氣賜於億兆、請立一人、統轄會眾、

金銀為洪爐所鍛鍊、人心為耶和華所鑒察。

上帝鑒察人心、豈不灼知乎此兮、

則爾在天、居於明宮、俯念厥祈、赦宥其罪、天下人心、惟爾灼知、視其作為、而加報施。

故於上帝前、萬物不得隱、豁然顯露、均為鞫我之主所視焉、

我知主可畏而勸人、我行事顯明於上帝前、亦望顯明於爾心、

耶和華兮、爾鑒察予兮、我或坐或起、或寢或興、爾知之稔兮、念慮未萌、爾知之久兮、我之步履、爾察之詳兮、

使諸會知眾人心腹腎腸、我常監察、視其所行而報之、

論及童身、吾未奉主命、惟沾主恩以為忠、自言己意、

此後吾不以貌視人、雖曾以貌視基督、今不復如此視之、

上帝無不義兮、鑒民衷藏、惡則癉之兮、善則彰。

則又曰、約拿子西門、爾愛我乎、彼得見三問愛我、憂曰、主無所不知、知我愛爾矣、耶穌曰牧我羊、

耶穌知人、故不恃人、不待人告之、自知人之中藏也、

主曰、孰是忠智家宰、主任之督其家人、依時與糧、

我於諸證者前、傳道於爾、宜托忠信者、俾能教眾、
