He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

He led David down to where the men were. They were scattered all over the countryside. They were eating and drinking and dancing wildly. That’s because they had taken a large amount of goods from those they had attacked. They had taken it from the land of the Philistines and from the people of Judah.

And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

So he led David to them, and they found the Amalekites spread out across the fields, eating and drinking and dancing with joy because of the vast amount of plunder they had taken from the Philistines and the land of Judah.

So he led him, and there were the Amalekites, spread out over the entire area, eating, drinking, and celebrating because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.

Now when he had brought him down, behold, they were dispersed over all the land, eating and drinking and celebrating because of all the great plunder that they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

So he took David down, and they found them spread out over the land. They were eating and drinking and enjoying themselves because of all the loot they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

When he had brought him down, behold, they were spread around over all the ground, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great plunder that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

押沙龍吩咐他的僕人們說：「你們要注意！當暗嫩喝酒暢快的時候，我對你們說：『擊殺暗嫩！』你們就把他殺了。不要害怕！這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要堅強，作英勇的人！」

當人們正說「和平」、「安全」的時候，毀滅那時就突然臨到他們，就像孕婦的臨產陣痛那樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

住在地上的人都因他們的死而歡喜、慶祝，並且要彼此送禮，因為這兩位先知曾使住在地上的人受痛苦。可是三天半之後，有從神而來的生命氣息進入他們裡面，他們就站立起來了。於是強烈的恐懼臨到那些觀看他們的人。隨後，兩位先知聽見一個大聲音從天上傳來，對他們說：「上到這裡來！」他們就在雲中升到天上去了，他們的敵人也看見了。就在那時刻，發生了大地震，那城的十分之一倒塌了，在地震中死去的有七千人。其餘的人都感到害怕，把榮耀歸給天上的神。

人們繼續吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亞進方舟的那一天，洪水到來，把一切都毀滅了。同樣，就像在羅得的那些日子裡發生的那樣：人們繼續吃喝、買賣、耕種、建造，到了羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，烈火和硫磺就從天而降，把一切都毀滅了。

伯沙撒王為他的一千名大臣擺設了盛大的宴席，當著這一千人的面喝酒。伯沙撒酒酣之時，吩咐人把他先王尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷的聖殿中取走的金銀器皿帶來，好讓王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們都用這些來喝酒。於是人把聖殿——耶路撒冷神的殿中所取走的金器皿帶來，王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們就用這些來喝酒。他們一邊喝酒，一邊稱讚那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神明。

我們侵襲了基利提的南地和屬於猶大的地方，以及迦勒的南地，並且用火燒毀了洗革拉。」

婭比蓋回到納巴爾那裡，看哪，他在家裡擺設宴席，像王的宴席一樣。納巴爾心情好，醉得很厲害，所以婭比蓋無論大事小事都沒有告訴他，直到早晨天亮。到了早晨，納巴爾酒醒後，他的妻子把這些事告訴他，他就失去了意識，身體變得硬如石頭。大約過了十天，耶和華擊打納巴爾，他就死了。

看哪！你們卻歡喜快樂，殺牛宰羊，吃肉喝酒，說：「讓我們吃喝吧！因為明天我們就要死了。」

然後，我要對我的靈魂說：靈魂哪，你擁有了很多好東西，足以享用多年，你就休息、吃喝、慶祝吧。』「可是神對他說：『你這愚妄的人哪！今夜，他們就要召回你的靈魂了。那麼，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

「你們要謹慎自守，免得你們的心因宴樂、醉酒和今生的憂慮變得遲鈍，那日子就會像網羅一樣突然臨到你們，因為那日子將要臨到所有住在全地面上的人。
