是以福音曾宣於死者、使其身如人而受鞫、其靈依上帝而得生、○

已死之人、曾聞福音、其身為人所害、其神為上帝所救、

是以福音亦傳於死者、使其身按世人受審、審或作刑靈魂賴天主得生、使其身按世人受審靈魂賴天主得生原文作使其以身受審判依人以神得生依天主

且已亡之人、亦何為能聞福音乎？蓋使若輩身雖因人而死、靈則得以托主而生耳。

For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

That’s why the good news was preached even to people who are now dead. It was preached to them for two reasons. It was preached so that their bodies might be judged. This judgment is made by human standards. But the good news was also preached so that their spirits might live. This life comes by means of God’s power.

For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead— so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.

For this reason the gospel was also preached to those who are now dead, so that, although they might be judged in the flesh according to human standards, they might live in the spirit according to God’s standards.

因为赐人生命之圣灵的律已经在基督耶稣里使我获得自由，脱离了罪与死的律。

从前我们也愚蠢、悖逆、易受迷惑，受各种私欲和享乐的驱使，心里充满了嫉妒和恶念，令人憎恶，也彼此憎恨。但我们的救主上帝向人彰显了祂的恩慈和仁爱，借着重生之洗和圣灵的更新拯救了我们，这并非因为我们有义行，而是因为祂的怜悯。上帝借着我们的救主耶稣基督把圣灵丰丰富富地浇灌在我们身上。这样，我们既然靠着祂的恩典而被称为义人，就可以成为后嗣，有永生的盼望。

我们以前也在他们当中随从罪恶的本性，放纵肉体和心中的私欲，与其他人一样本是惹上帝发怒的人。然而上帝有丰富的怜悯，祂深爱我们，尽管我们死在过犯之中，祂仍然使我们和基督一同活了过来。你们得救是因为上帝的恩典。

但如果上帝的灵住在你们里面，你们就不再受制于罪恶的本性，而是受圣灵管理。人若没有基督的灵，就不属于基督。如果基督在你们里面，你们的身体虽然因罪恶而死亡，灵魂却因上帝所赐的义而活着。如果使耶稣复活之上帝的灵住在你们里面，叫基督耶稣从死里复活的上帝，必借着住在你们里面的圣灵，使你们终有一死的身体活过来。

祂还借着圣灵向那些监狱中的灵魂传道，

我实实在在地告诉你们，时候快到了，现在就是，死人将听见上帝儿子的声音，听见的将存活。因为正如父自己是生命的源头，祂也同样让子作生命的源头，

既然基督曾在肉身上为你们受苦，你们也要怀着同样的心志，因为肉体受过苦的人已经与罪断绝了关系，可以在今后的生活中不再随从人的私欲，只服从上帝的旨意。

如果我们先自我省察，就不会遭受审判了。主审判我们，是对我们的管教，免得我们和世人一同被定罪。

如果我们是靠圣灵生活，就当凡事顺从圣灵的引导。

“那时，你们将遭人迫害、杀害，并因我的名而被万民憎恨。

又有一位掌管烈火的天使从祭坛那里出来，对手拿镰刀的天使高喊：“挥动你锋利的镰刀，收取地上葡萄树的果实吧！它们已经熟透了。”

事实上，我因无法满足律法的要求而向律法死了，不再受它的束缚，使我可以为上帝而活。
