兄弟乎、吾言今而後、窘逼之時也、故有妻者、當如無妻、

第有一語、不得不為兄弟告者、即人生在世、為日無多；故有妻當若無妻、

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not;

Brothers and sisters, what I mean is that the time is short. From now on, those who have a husband or wife should live as if they did not.

既知斯時即爾由睡宜醒之時、則當遵此以行、蓋我儕得救、今較初信之時愈近矣、夜已深、晝已近、當解暗昩之行、衣光明之甲冑、

噫、爾言或今日、或明日、我將往某邑、居彼一年、貿易獲利、但明日究竟如何、爾不知也、爾之生命如何、乃如雲霧暫現、頃刻即不見矣、惟爾當曰、若主許我、我若尚存、則必行此或行彼、今爾矜驕自誇、如此之矜誇、皆非善也、

求主使我得識己身有終、年壽幾何、乃知生命無常、主賜我生命、長不過掌、生存之年、在主前如同無有、一切世人、雖然豎立、亦是虛幻、細拉、人生在世、猶如幻影、營謀皆是枉然、積蓄不知誰取、主歟、如今我何所指望、我所仰望者惟主、

事之大要、我儕俱當聽之、即敬畏天主、守其誡命、此為人之大端、一切所為、及一切隱秘之事、或善或惡、悉為天主所鞫、

主使人逝世如水之流、亦使之如睡、青年如草、速然凋殘、清晨生發、隨即衰殘、至暮刈割、便皆枯槁、我儕因主震怒、幾至消亡、因主施威、皆甚驚惶、主將我儕罪愆、列於主前、將我隱惡、陳於主面光之中、因主震怒、致我儕日月速然而逝、我儕度年、疾如轉念、我儕年壽、不過七十、若強健者可至八十、其中勞苦煩惱甚多、日月甚速、我儕迅逝如飛、

有聲曰、爾當宣告、問曰、我當何所宣告、曰、凡有血氣者如草、其榮如田野之花、草枯花雕、因主之氣吹噓其上、斯民誠如草矣、草枯花雕、惟我天主之言、永存不朽、

經載云、凡有血氣者如草、人之諸榮如草之花、草枯花謝、

凡爾手所經營之事、當盡力經營、因爾所將往之示阿勒、示阿勒有譯黃泉有譯陰府有譯墳墓無經營、無計謀、無知識、無智慧、○

萬物之終伊邇、故當廉潔警醒祈禱、

可愛者乎、爾不可不知、主觀一日如千年、千年如一日、主所許者尚未應驗、人以為主遲緩、實則主非遲緩、乃寛容我儕、欲人皆悔改、不欲有一人淪亡、

人身為塵、仍歸於土、靈魂為天主所賦畀、仍歸於天主、柯希列曰、凡事皆虛中之虛、皆屬於虛、○

人生於世、為日無多、虛空若影、孰能知在世之時、何者為益、人逝世後、將有何事於日下、孰能告之、

主使斯地空虛、使之荒蕪、傾而覆之、傾而覆之原文作傾覆其面使其居民離散、其時庶民如何、祭司亦然、僕人如何、主人亦然、婢女如何、主母亦然、鬻物者如何、購物者亦然、貸人者如何、貸於人者亦然、負債者如何、索債者亦然、

人乃婦人所生、年雖少而煩惱多、年雖少而煩惱多或作既不永年且多煩惱如花之發生、頃刻枯槁、如影之奔馳、不能停留、

世人之歲月如草、其生發如野地之花、一經風吹、便歸無有、其原處亦不復識之、
