After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you— for I will be going through Macedonia.

Afterward Paul felt compelled by the Spirit to go over to Macedonia and Achaia before going to Jerusalem.“ And after that,” he said,“ I must go on to Rome!”

But I will come— and soon— if the Lord lets me, and then I’ll find out whether these arrogant people just give pretentious speeches or whether they really have God’s power.

Since I was so sure of your understanding and trust, I wanted to give you a double blessing by visiting you twice—first on my way to Macedonia and again when I returned from Macedonia. Then you could send me on my way to Judea.You may be asking why I changed my plan. Do you think I make my plans carelessly? Do you think I am like people of the world who say“ Yes” when they really mean“ No”?

When the uproar was over, Paul sent for the believers and encouraged them. Then he said good bye and left for Macedonia.While there, he encouraged the believers in all the towns he passed through. Then he traveled down to Greece,where he stayed for three months. He was preparing to sail back to Syria when he discovered a plot by some Jews against his life, so he decided to return through Macedonia.
