and though Judah was the strongest of his brothers and a ruler came from him, the rights of the firstborn belonged to Joseph)—

Judah also did not have the rights of the oldest son. Judah didn’t have them even though he was the leader among his brothers. And a ruler came from his family line. But the rights of the oldest son belonged to Joseph.

雅各有子十二、長子流便、及西緬、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、乃利亞所出、

遂遣人攜之入、其人赤色、目秀貌美、耶和華曰、斯人是也、起而膏之、

時、猶大族至吉甲見約書亞、有基尼洗族耶孚尼子迦勒謂之曰、昔在加低斯巴尼亞、耶和華諭其僕摩西關乎爾我之事、爾所知也、

長老之一遂謂我曰、勿哭、猶大支之獅、大衛之根、已獲勝、以啟此卷、及其七印、

首日獻禮物者、猶大支派、亞米拿達子拿順、

東方日出之所、凡隸猶大營之纛者、按其行伍建營、亞米拿達子拿順為其牧伯、

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、我既棄掃羅、不使為以色列王、爾為之懷憂、伊於胡底、可盛膏於角而往、我將遣爾詣伯利恆人耶西、其眾子中、我簡其一為王、

上帝所預知者、又預定效其子之狀、使為眾兄弟中之冢子、

耶和華曰、猶大人可往、我以斯土付於其手、

耶和華曰、時日將至、我必為大衛興一義者、乃其條肄、彼將秉權為王、以智處事、秉公行義於斯土、當彼之時、猶大獲救、以色列安居、其名必稱曰耶和華乃我義、

汝父所祝之嘏、愈於吾祖所祝之嘏、如岡陵之恆久、如山嶽之高大、悉歸約瑟之首、臨乎冠昆弟者之頂、

大衛為以色列全族之王、為其民眾施行公義、

耶西使七子咸過其前、撒母耳曰、皆非耶和華所簡也、
