So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him.

于是所罗门坐在他父亲的王位上，他的国非常稳固。

在我的众子中（因为耶和华赐给我许多儿子），他拣选了我的儿子所罗门，坐耶和华的国位，统治以色列。

我劝你，因为你指着神起了誓，你就要遵守王的命令。不要轻率离开王的面前，也不要参与恶事，因为王可以随己意作任何事。既然王的话有权柄，谁敢问他：“你在作什么？”遵守命令的，必不遭受灾祸；智慧人的心，晓得时机，懂得判断。

深愿耶和华赐你聪明和智慧，使你治理以色列的时候，谨守耶和华你的神的律法。

政府的权柄，人人都应当服从。因为没有一样权柄不是从神来的；掌权的都是神设立的。

你的寿数满足，归你列祖那里的时候，我必兴起你的后裔接替你，他是你的众子中的一位；我必坚立他的国。他要为我建造殿宇，我必坚立他的王位，直到永远。

耶和华实实在在向大卫起了誓，他必不会收回，他说：“我要从你的后裔中，立一位坐在你的王位上。

因为有一个婴孩为我们而生，有一个儿子赐给我们；政权必担在他的肩头上；他的名必称为“奇妙的策士、全能的神、永恒的父、和平的君”。他的政权与平安必无穷无尽地增加，他在大卫的宝座上治理他的国，以公平和公义使国坚立稳固，从现在直到永远。万军之耶和华的热心必成全这事。
