  • Psalms 116:3 - The cords and sorrows of death encompassed me, And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.
  • Psalms 116:4 - Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, please save my life!”
  • Mark 14:66 - While Peter was down below in the courtyard, one of the servant-girls of the high priest came,
  • Mark 14:67 - and when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked intently at him and said, “You were with Jesus the Nazarene, too.”

  • Mark 14:70 - But again he denied it. After a little while, the bystanders again said to Peter, “You are in fact one of them, for [it is clear from your accent, that] you are a Galilean, too.”
  • Mark 14:71 - But he began to invoke a curse [on himself] and to swear [an oath], “I do not know this man you are talking about!”
  • Mark 14:72 - Immediately a rooster crowed the second time. And Peter remembered what Jesus said to him: “Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And thinking of this, he began weeping [in anguish].
  • Luke 22:54 - Then they seized Him, and led Him away and brought Him to the [elegant] house of the [Jewish] high priest. And Peter was following at a [safe] distance.
  • Luke 22:55 - After they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.
  • Luke 22:56 - And a servant-girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and looking intently at him, said, “This man was with Him too.”
  • Luke 22:57 - But Peter denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him!”
  • Luke 22:58 - A little later someone else saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”
  • Luke 22:59 - After about an hour had passed, another man began to insist, “This man was with Him, for he is a Galilean too.”
  • Luke 22:60 - But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
  • Luke 22:61 - The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
  • Jonah 2:2 - and said, “I called out of my trouble and distress to the Lord, And He answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol I cried for help, And You heard my voice.
  • Jonah 2:3 - For You cast me into the deep, Into the [deep] heart of the seas, And the currents surrounded and engulfed me; All Your breakers and billowing waves passed over me.

  • Jonah 2:6 - I descended to the [very] roots of the mountains. The earth with its bars closed behind me [bolting me in] forever, Yet You have brought up my life from the pit (death), O Lord my God.
  • Jonah 2:7 - When my soul was fainting within me, I remembered the Lord, And my prayer came to You, Into Your holy temple.
  • John 18:25 - Now Simon Peter was [still] standing and warming himself. So they said to him, “You are not one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.”
  • John 18:26 - One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the one whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you with Him in the garden?”
  • John 18:27 - So Peter denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed.
  • Mark 14:38 - Keep [actively] watching and praying so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
