  • Ezekiel 24:12 - It has tried my patience; yet its thick rot is not removed from it. Subject its rot to the fire!

  • Judges 9:16 - “Now, if you have shown loyalty and integrity when you made Abimelech king, if you have done right to Jerub-Baal and his family, if you have properly repaid him –
  • Judges 9:17 - my father fought for you; he risked his life and delivered you from Midian’s power.
  • Judges 9:18 - But you have attacked my father’s family today. You murdered his seventy legitimate sons on one stone and made Abimelech, the son of his female slave, king over the leaders of Shechem, just because he is your close relative.

  • Micah 2:4 - In that day people will sing this taunt song to you – they will mock you with this lament: ‘We are completely destroyed; they sell off the property of my people. How they remove it from me! They assign our fields to the conqueror.’

  • Isaiah 5:7 - Indeed Israel is the vineyard of the Lord who commands armies, the people of Judah are the cultivated place in which he took delight. He waited for justice, but look what he got – disobedience! He waited for fairness, but look what he got – cries for help!
  • Habakkuk 2:6 - “But all these nations will someday taunt him and ridicule him with proverbial sayings: ‘The one who accumulates what does not belong to him is as good as dead (How long will this go on?) – he who gets rich by extortion!’

  • Mark 4:13 - He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then how will you understand any parable?
  • 2 Samuel 12:1 - So the Lord sent Nathan to David. When he came to David, Nathan said, “There were two men in a certain city, one rich and the other poor.
  • 2 Samuel 12:2 - The rich man had a great many flocks and herds.
  • 2 Samuel 12:3 - But the poor man had nothing except for a little lamb he had acquired. He raised it, and it grew up alongside him and his children. It used to eat his food, drink from his cup, and sleep in his arms. It was just like a daughter to him.
  • 2 Samuel 12:4 - “When a traveler arrived at the rich man’s home, he did not want to use one of his own sheep or cattle to feed the traveler who had come to visit him. Instead, he took the poor man’s lamb and cooked it for the man who had come to visit him.”
  • 2 Samuel 12:5 - Then David became very angry at this man. He said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this deserves to die!
  • 2 Samuel 12:6 - Because he committed this cold-hearted crime, he must pay for the lamb four times over!”
  • 2 Samuel 12:7 - Nathan said to David, “You are that man! This is what the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I chose you to be king over Israel and I rescued you from the hand of Saul.
  • Mark 4:33 - So with many parables like these, he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear.
  • Matthew 13:34 - Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.
  • Matthew 13:35 - This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.”
  • Matthew 13:53 - Now when Jesus finished these parables, he moved on from there.
  • Mark 12:12 - Now they wanted to arrest him (but they feared the crowd), because they realized that he told this parable against them. So they left him and went away.

  • Mark 4:8 - But other seed fell on good soil and produced grain, sprouting and growing; some yielded thirty times as much, some sixty, and some a hundred times.”
  • Mark 4:9 - And he said, “Whoever has ears to hear had better listen!”
