  • Leviticus 18:5 - If you obey my decrees and my regulations, you will find life through them. I am the Lord.

  • Psalms 19:9 - Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.
  • Psalms 19:10 - They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.
  • Psalms 19:11 - They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.
  • Luke 10:27 - The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
  • Luke 10:28 - “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”
  • Luke 10:29 - The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
  • John 14:21 - Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
  • Acts of the Apostles 24:16 - Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.
  • James 2:18 - Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
  • James 2:19 - You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
  • James 2:20 - How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
  • James 2:21 - Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
  • James 2:22 - You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.
  • James 2:23 - And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.
  • James 2:24 - So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
  • James 2:25 - Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road.
  • James 2:26 - Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.
  • 1 John 2:29 - Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.
  • Luke 1:6 - Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God’s eyes, careful to obey all of the Lord’s commandments and regulations.
  • James 1:22 - But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
  • James 1:23 - For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.
  • James 1:24 - You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.
  • James 1:25 - But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
  • Romans 1:17 - This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
  • Deuteronomy 10:12 - “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul.
  • Deuteronomy 10:13 - And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
  • Ezekiel 18:17 - He helps the poor, does not lend money at interest, and obeys all my regulations and decrees. Such a person will not die because of his father’s sins; he will surely live.
  • Habakkuk 2:4 - “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
  • Ezekiel 20:11 - There I gave them my decrees and regulations so they could find life by keeping them.
  • Amos 5:4 - Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel: “Come back to me and live!
