God’s Love and Faithfulness
A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day.
1It is good to praise Yahweh,
to sing praise to Your name, Most High, Ps 135:3; 147:1
2to declare Your faithful love in the morning
and Your faithfulness at night, Ps 59:16; 89:1; Lm 3:22-23
3with a ten-stringed harp
and the music of a lyre. Ps 33:2
4For You have made me rejoice, Lord,
by what You have done;
I will shout for joy
because of the works of Your hands. Ps 40:5; 143:5
5How magnificent are Your works, Lord,
how profound Your thoughts! Ps 139:17; Is 55:8-9
6A stupid person does not know,
a fool does not understand this: Ps 73:22
7though the wicked sprout like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be eternally destroyed. Ps 90:5-6
9For indeed, Lord, Your enemies —
indeed, Your enemies will perish;
all evildoers will be scattered. Ps 37:20; 68:1
10You have lifted up my horn Ps 89:17,24; 112:9
like that of a wild ox;
I have been anointed Syr reads You have anointed me with oil. Ps 45:7
11My eyes look down on my enemies;
my ears hear evildoers when they attack me. Ps 37:34; 54:7
12The righteous thrive like a palm tree
and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon. Ps 1:3; Is 61:3; Jr 17:8
13Planted in the house of the Lord,
they thrive in the courts of our God. Is 60:21
14They will still bear fruit in old age,
healthy and green, Is 37:31; 46:4
15to declare: “The Lord is just;
He is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Dt 32:4; Ps 18:2; 94:22
