Prayer for Defense against Enemies.
For the music director; on stringed instruments. A Possibly Contemplative; or Didactic; or Skillful PsalmMaskil of David, 1 Sam 23:19; 26:1when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Is David not keeping himself hidden among us?”
1Save me, God, by Your name,
And Lit judgevindicate me by Your power.
2Hear my prayer, God;
Listen to the words of my mouth.
3For strangers have risen against me
And violent men have sought my Or soullife;
They have not set God before them. Selah
4Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is Lit as those who sustainthe sustainer of my soul.

LXX; MT The evil will return
He will pay back the evil to my enemies;
Or Put to silence
Destroy them in Your Or truthfaithfulness.

Or With a voluntary offering
Willingly I will sacrifice to You;
I will praise Your name, Lord, for it is good.
And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.
