The Voice of the Lord
A Davidic psalm.
1Ascribe to Yahweh, you heavenly beings, Or you angels, or you sons of the mighty ; lit Lord sons of the gods
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name;
worship Yahweh
in the splendor of His holiness. Or in holy attire, or in holy appearance 1Ch 16:28-29; Ps 96:7-9
3The voice of the Lord is above the waters.
The God of glory thunders —
the Lord, above vast waters, Jb 37:4-5; Ps 18:13; 104:7
4the voice of the Lord in power,
the voice of the Lord in splendor. Ps 68:33
5The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. Ps 104:16
6He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Ps 114:4,6
and Sirion, = Mount Hermon like a young wild ox. Dt 3:8-9
8The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. Nm 13:26
and strips the woodlands bare. Is 24:1,3
In His temple all cry, “Glory! ”
10The Lord sat enthroned at the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned, King forever. Ps 9:7; 10:17
the Lord blesses His people with peace. Php 4:7
