The Lord’s Love for Israel

4I led them with human cords,

To them I was like one

5Israel will not return to the land of Egypt
because they refused to repent.11:5 Hs 7:16
it will destroy and devour the bars of his gates,11:6 Or devour his empty talkers, or devour his limbs; Hb obscure11:6 Lm 2:9
because of their schemes.11:6 Hs 4:16–17
Though they call to him on high,
he will not exalt them at all.
How can I surrender you, Israel?
I have had a change of heart;
my compassion is stirred!
For I am God and not man,
I will not come in rage.11:9 Or come into any city; Hb obscure
When he roars,
his children will come trembling from the west.11:10 Is 66:2–5
11They will be roused like birds from Egypt
Then I will settle them in their homes.11:11 Ezk 34:27–28
This is the Lord’s declaration.

Judah still wanders with God
