當耶路撒冷和它四圍的城市都有人居住、而且優遊興盛，南地和低原也都有人居住時，永恆主的話、由從前的神言人經手宣告的、你們不應當聽麼？』

耶和華藉古先知所宣之言、爾不宜聽之乎、其時耶路撒冷及四周之邑、有居民、且興盛、南土平原、亦有居民焉、○

昔耶路撒冷及四周之邑、南方平原、隨在有民居處、無不安綏、我耶和華使古先知、不既言之詳乎、

昔耶路撒冷及四圍之邑、尚有居民享平康、南方與平原平原或作窪地尚有人居、此言主豈未曾藉古先知宣告於眾乎、

Are these not the words the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled?’”

Didn’t I tell you the same thing through the earlier prophets? That was when Jerusalem and the towns around it were at rest and enjoyed success. People lived in the Negev Desert and the western hills at that time.’ ”

Were not these the words that the Lord proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous, with her cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?’”

Isn’t this the same message the Lord proclaimed through the prophets in years past when Jerusalem and the towns of Judah were bustling with people, and the Negev and the foothills of Judah were well populated?’”

Aren’t these the words that the LORD proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and secure, along with its surrounding cities, and when the southern region and the Judean foothills were inhabited?”

Are these not the words which the Lord proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and carefree along with its cities around it, and the Negev and the foothills were inhabited?’ ”

Should you not have obeyed the words which the Lord proclaimed through the former prophets when Jerusalem and the cities around it were inhabited and prosperous, and the South and the Lowland were inhabited?’”

Should ye not hear the words which Jehovah cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?

Aren’t these the words that the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and secure, along with its surrounding cities, and when the southern region and the Judean foothills were inhabited?”

[ Should ye] not[ hear] the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when[ men] inhabited the south and the plain?

Should you not have obeyed the words that the LORD cried out through the former prophets when Jerusalem was peacefully inhabited and her surrounding cities, the Negev, and the Shephelah were also populated?

Aren’t these the words which Yahweh proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and its cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?’”

「洗滌自己，潔淨自己吧，從我眼前除掉你們的惡行！當停止作惡，學習行善，尋求公正，指責欺壓者，給孤兒伸冤，為寡婦辯屈！」耶和華說：「來吧，讓我們彼此理論；你們的罪雖像朱紅，必潔白如雪；雖赤如丹紅，必白如羊毛。如果你們願意聽從，就必吃地上的美物；但如果你們拒絕、悖逆，就必被刀劍吞噬。」這是耶和華親口說的。

當趁著耶和華還能被找到的時候尋找他，趁著他還在近處的時候呼求他！邪惡的人要離棄自己的道路，作惡的人要撇棄自己的意念；他們當回轉歸向耶和華，耶和華就必憐憫他們；當回轉歸向我們的神，因為神必廣施赦免。

沒有聽從你的僕人眾先知——他們奉你的名向我們的君王們、首領們、祖先們和這地所有的子民說話。「主啊，公義在於你；至於我們猶大人、耶路撒冷的居民，以及你驅趕到遠近各地的全體以色列人，因為對你行事不忠，都滿面羞恥，就像今天這樣！耶和華啊，我們和我們的君王們、首領們、祖先們都滿面羞恥，因為我們對你犯了罪！憐憫和赦免在於主我們的神；我們卻背叛了他，沒有聽從耶和華我們神的話，沒有遵行他藉著他的僕人眾先知在我們面前所立的律法。「全體以色列人都違背、偏離了你的律法，不聽從你的話；因此神的僕人摩西的律法上所記的詛咒和審判都傾瀉在我們身上，因為我們對神犯了罪。神實現了他的話語，就是他針對我們、針對那些審判我們的審判官所說的，為要使極大的禍患臨到我們身上；像這樣在耶路撒冷所發生的禍患，在普天之下從來沒有發生過。照著摩西的律法上所記的，這一切禍患都臨到我們身上；然而我們卻沒有懇求耶和華我們神的恩寵，好使我們回轉離開自己的罪孽，留心你的真理。於是耶和華有意使這禍患臨到我們身上，因為耶和華我們的神所做的一切都是公義的，但我們卻沒有聽從他的話。

你們要側耳聽，來到我這裡；你們要聽，就得以存活。我必與你們立永遠的約，就是給大衛的信實慈愛的約。

因此你要對我的子民說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：你們當轉向我！』這是萬軍之耶和華的宣告。『我就轉向你們！』這是萬軍之耶和華說的。耶和華宣告：『你們不要像你們的祖先！先前的眾先知呼喚他們，說：「萬軍之耶和華如此說：現在你們要回轉離開自己邪惡的道路和邪惡的行為！」他們卻不聽從，也不留心聽我的話。你們的祖先，他們在哪裡呢？那些先知，他們會永遠活著嗎？然而我吩咐我僕人眾先知的話語和律例，不都追上了你們的祖先嗎？於是他們回轉，說：萬軍之耶和華照著我們的道路和行為決意怎樣對待我們，他就怎樣對待了我們。』」
