Nothing, not even a mighty mountain, will stand in Zerubbabel’s way; it will become a level plain before him! And when Zerubbabel sets the final stone of the Temple in place, the people will shout:‘ May God bless it! May God bless it!’”

Who[ art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel[ thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone[ thereof with] shoutings,[ crying], Grace, grace unto it.

The LORD says,“ Beware! I am opposed to you, Babylon! You are like a destructive mountain that destroys all the earth. I will unleash my power against you; I will roll you off the cliffs and make you like a burned-out mountain.

Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills?

The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.

The stone which the builders discarded has become the cornerstone.

In the future the LORD’s Temple Mount will be the most important mountain of all; it will be more prominent than other hills. People will stream to it.

Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah:‘ I am ready to shake the sky and the earth.I will overthrow royal thrones and shatter the might of earthly kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and those who ride them, and horses and their riders will fall as people kill one another.On that day,’ says the LORD who rules over all,‘ I will take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, my servant,’ says the LORD,‘ and I will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ says the LORD who rules over all.”

On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives which lies to the east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, leaving a great valley. Half the mountain will move northward and the other half southward.Then you will escape through my mountain valley, for the mountains will extend to Azal. Indeed, you will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come with all his holy ones with him.

“ The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this temple, and his hands will complete it.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me to you.

He takes his battle position and shakes the earth; with a mere look he frightens the nations. The ancient mountains disintegrate; the primeval hills are flattened. He travels on the ancient roads.

They were singing a new song:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels in a circle around the throne, as well as the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand– thousands times thousands–all of whom were singing in a loud voice:“ Worthy is the lamb who was killed to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise!”Then I heard every creature– in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them– singing:“ To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power forever and ever!”

Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be brought low, and the crooked will be made straight, and the rough ways will be made smooth,

But Jesus looked straight at them and said,“ Then what is the meaning of that which is written:‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?

Every island fled away and no mountains could be found.

A voice cries out,“ In the wilderness clear a way for the LORD; construct in the desert a road for our God.Every valley must be elevated, and every mountain and hill leveled. The rough terrain will become a level plain, the rugged landscape a wide valley.

After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying,“ Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,because his judgments are true and just. For he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his servants poured out by her own hands!”Then a second time the crowd shouted,“ Hallelujah!” The smoke rises from her forever and ever.The twenty- four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying:“ Amen! Hallelujah!”Then a voice came from the throne, saying:“ Praise our God all you his servants, and all you who fear him, both the small and the great!”Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting:“ Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All- Powerful, reigns!

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, that has become the cornerstone.

to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

Moreover, the LORD who rules over all says:‘ In just a little while I will once again shake the sky and the earth, the sea and the dry ground.I will also shake up all the nations, and they will offer their treasures; then I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD who rules over all.‘ The silver and gold will be mine,’ says the LORD who rules over all.‘ The future splendor of this temple will be greater than that of former times,’ the LORD who rules over all declares,‘ and in this place I will give peace.’”

You were watching as a stone was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its iron and clay feet, breaking them in pieces.Then the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold were broken in pieces without distinction and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors that the wind carries away. Not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a large mountain that filled the entire earth.

“ Look, I am making you like a sharp threshing sledge, new and double-edged. You will thresh the mountains and crush them; you will make the hills like straw.

Have you not read this scripture:‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

And if it is by grace, it is no longer by works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

Jesus answered them,“ I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain,‘ Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.

So you who believe see his value, but for those who do not believe, the stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,

If only you would tear apart the sky and come down! The mountains would tremble before you!( 64: 1) As when fire ignites dry wood, or fire makes water boil, let your adversaries know who you are, and may the nations shake at your presence!When you performed awesome deeds that took us by surprise, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.

Therefore, this is what the sovereign master, the LORD, says:“ Look, I am laying a stone in Zion, an approved stone, set in place as a precious cornerstone for the foundation. The one who maintains his faith will not panic.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ– by grace you are saved!–and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,to demonstrate in the coming ages the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God;

On what were its bases set, or who laid its cornerstone–when the morning stars sang in chorus, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

because you have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.

The mountains tremble before him, the hills convulse; the earth is laid waste before him, the world and all its inhabitants are laid waste.No one can withstand his indignation! No one can resist his fierce anger! His wrath is poured out like volcanic fire, boulders are broken up as he approaches.

With antiphonal response they sang, praising and glorifying the LORD:“ For he is good; his loyal love toward Israel is forever.” All the people gave a loud shout as they praised the LORD when the temple of the LORD was established.Many of the priests, the Levites, and the leaders– older people who had seen with their own eyes the former temple while it was still established– were weeping loudly, and many others raised their voice in a joyous shout.People were unable to tell the difference between the sound of joyous shouting and the sound of the people’s weeping, for the people were shouting so loudly that the sound was heard a long way off.

The mountains will disintegrate beneath him, and the valleys will be split in two. The mountains will melt like wax in a fire, the rocks will slide down like water cascading down a steep slope.

They finished this temple on the third day of the month Adar, which is the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.The people of Israel– the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the exiles– observed the dedication of this temple of God with joy.For the dedication of this temple of God they offered one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and twelve male goats for the sin of all Israel, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the scriptures:‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Once again there will be sounds of joy and gladness and the glad celebrations of brides and grooms. Once again people will bring their thank offerings to the temple of the LORD and will say,“ Give thanks to the LORD who rules over all. For the LORD is good and his unfailing love lasts forever.” For I, the LORD, affirm that I will restore the land to what it was in days of old.’
