Then I, myself, will be a protective wall of fire around Jerusalem, says the Lord. And I will be the glory inside the city!’”

And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will be its glory within.’

And I myself will be like a wall of fire around it,’ announces the Lord.‘ I will be the city’s glory.’

And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst.’”

The declaration of the LORD:“ I myself will be a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory within it.”

But I,’ declares the Lord,‘ will be a wall of fire to her on all sides, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”

For I,’ says the Lord,‘ will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’”

For I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

The declaration of the Lord:“ I will be a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory within it.”

For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

But I( the LORD says) will be a wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem and the source of glory in her midst.’”

For I,’ says Yahweh,‘ will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.

Then the Lord will provide shade for Mount Zion and all who assemble there. He will provide a canopy of cloud during the day and smoke and flaming fire at night, covering the glorious land.

I will guard my Temple and protect it from invading armies. I am watching closely to ensure that no more foreign oppressors overrun my people’s land.

Let all the people of Jerusalem shout his praise with joy! For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.”

Violence will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there.“ No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of all the nations will be brought to this Temple. I will fill this place with glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.The future glory of this Temple will be greater than its past glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. And in this place I will bring peace. I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!”

And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. InterludeCome, see the glorious works of the Lord: See how he brings destruction upon the world.He causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire.“ Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him.And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads.And there will be no night there— no need for lamps or sun— for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.

God himself is in Jerusalem’s towers, revealing himself as its defender.

He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!”

So he took me in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and he showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.It shone with the glory of God and sparkled like a precious stone— like jasper as clear as crystal.

In that day, everyone in the land of Judah will sing this song: Our city is strong! We are surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation.Open the gates to all who are righteous; allow the faithful to enter.

The Lord will be our Mighty One. He will be like a wide river of protection that no enemy can cross, that no enemy ship can sail upon.

Go, inspect the city of Jerusalem. Walk around and count the many towers.
