我對安逸的列國大大震怒，因為我從前對我的子民只是稍微發怒，列國卻對他們變本加厲。

我甚恼怒那安逸的列国，因我从前稍微恼怒我民，他们就加害过分。’

我非常恼怒那享安逸的列国，因我从前稍微恼怒，他们就越发加害。

我深不悅安逸之列邦、蓋我微怒斯民、彼則加以苦難、

昔我微怒斯民、異邦安佚之人、加我民以患難、我深為不悅、

我向安佚之列國、大震我怒、蓋我昔微怒斯民、而彼加害過甚、

and I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I was only a little angry, but they went too far with the punishment.’

And I am exceedingly angry with the nations that are at ease; for while I was angry but a little, they furthered the disaster.

But I am very angry with the other nations that are now enjoying peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations inflicted harm on them far beyond my intentions.

I am fiercely angry with the nations that are at ease, for I was a little angry, but they made the destruction worse.

But I am very angry with the nations who are carefree; for while I was only a little angry, they furthered the disaster.”

And I am very sore displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

我在怒氣漲溢的時候，曾經短暫地向你掩面，但我要以永遠的慈愛憐憫你。」這是耶和華你的救贖主說的。

我對我的子民發怒，使我的繼業被褻瀆，又把他們交在你的手中；你卻沒有對他們施憐憫，即使對老年人，你也把你的軛重重地壓在他們身上。你曾說：『我必永遠作王后！』你不把這些事放在心上，也不顧念事情的結局。「因此，你這驕奢的人哪——你安然居住，心裡說：『只有我，除我以外再沒有別的；我必不會寡居，也不會經歷喪子之事。』——現在你要聽這話：喪子和寡居這兩件事必在一日之內突然臨到你！你的法術再多，符咒再有威力，這兩件事也必全然臨到你！

他們回應站在桃金娘樹中間耶和華的使者，說：「我們遍地巡行，看哪，全地都安定、平靜！」

「耶和華曾對你們的祖先大大發怒，

因為他們追逼你所擊打的人，議論你所擊傷之人的痛苦。

禍哉！亞述，我怒氣的棍！他們手中的杖就是我的憤怒。我要派遣他去攻擊一個不敬虔的國家，吩咐他去攻打我所惱怒的子民，擄財掠貨，踐踏他們，如同踐踏街上的泥土。但這不是他所想的，也不是他的心思打算；他心裡所懷的卻是毀滅、剪除多國。

因為主所愛的人，主都管教；他所接納的每一個兒子，他都鞭打。」對管教的事，你們要忍受；神對待你們，就像對待兒女那樣。到底哪一個兒子不受父親的管教呢？

看哪，你的仇敵喧囂，恨你的人抬起了頭！他們合夥密謀，對付你的子民；他們彼此商議，對付你所珍愛的人。他們說：「來吧！讓我們將他們除滅，不再是一個國，使以色列的名不再被人記念。」他們同心商議，立約對付你。

安逸人的嘲笑和高慢人的藐視，我們實在受盡了。

她怎樣炫耀自己、驕奢淫逸，你們也要照樣給她折磨和悲傷，因為她心裡說：『我坐著女王的位子，我不是寡婦，絕不會經歷悲傷。』為此，在一天之內她所受的災害，就是死亡、悲傷和饑荒，就要來到。她將要在烈火中被燒掉，因為主、神——審判她的那一位是強有力的。」

耶和華啊，求你記住耶路撒冷遭難的日子，以東的子孫說過：「拆光！拆光！直到她的根基！」
