关于祭过偶像的食物，我们知道“我们都有知识。”知识使人自我膨胀，但是爱能造就人。

我往马其顿省去的时候，曾经劝你继续留在以弗所，好让你吩咐某些人不可传讲别的教义，也不可关注那些编造的故事和无穷的家谱：这些事只带来疑惑，而无助于神所赐的信仰上的任务。这样吩咐的目的是爱。爱是发自洁净的心、无愧的良心，以及不虚假的信仰。有些人偏离了这些，转向了虚妄的话，想要做律法教师，却不明白自己所讲的，或所强调的是为了什么。

如果我有做先知传道的恩赐，也明白一切奥秘、一切知识，并有全备的信，以致能移山，却没有爱，我就一无所是；
