He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

The message as it has been taught can be trusted. He must hold firmly to it. Then he will be able to use true teaching to comfort others and build them up. He will be able to prove that people who oppose it are wrong.

你要藉著在基督耶穌裡的信和愛，把你從我所聽到的健全話語，做為規範好好持守。

「基督耶穌來到這世界，為要拯救罪人。」這話是信實的，值得完全接受。在罪人中我是首惡，

如果有人傳講別的教義，不符合我們主耶穌基督的健全話語以及那合乎敬神的教導，

淫亂的、同性戀的、拐賣人口的、說謊的、起假誓的，以及其他任何反對健全教義的人。

卻要凡事分辨，要持守美善，

至於你，你所講的要與健全的教義相宜：

你當買真理、智慧、管教和悟性，不可賣掉它們！

溫柔地管教那些反對的人；或許神會賜給這些人悔改的心，到真理的知識當中。

這話是信實的，值得完全接受。

但如果大家都做先知傳道，有一個不信的或不明白的人進來，他就會因這一切而知罪、受到責問，

因為時候將到，人們容忍不了健全的教義，反要順著自己的欲望，為自己的耳朵能被呵癢得舒服，去召聚許多教師。

各位蒙愛的人哪，我一直十分殷切地要寫信給你們，談論我們共有的救恩；我感到有必要寫信鼓勵你們，為曾經一次性地託付給聖徒們的信仰而努力爭戰，

必須堵住這些人的口。他們為了不正當的利益，教導不該教導的事，把許多人的整個家庭都破壞了。

所以你應當記住你所領受、所聽見的是什麼；你應當持守，應當悔改。如果你不警醒，我就要來臨，就像賊來臨那樣；而你絕不會知道我什麼時候臨到你。

不過你們應當持守你們所擁有的，直到我來。

你要把那些在許多見證人面前從我所聽見的，交託給那些忠心可靠、又有能力教導別人的人。

因為他當眾強有力地駁倒猶太人，用經文證明耶穌是基督。

持守信仰和無愧的良心。有些人棄絕了這樣的良心，就在信仰上遭到了毀滅，

你自己要在一切事上做出美好工作的榜樣；教導的時候要正直、莊重，要用無可指責的健全話語，使反對的人在我們的事上因沒有壞話可說，就感到羞愧。

我快要來了！你應當持守你所擁有的，免得有人拿走你的冠冕。
