The message as it has been taught can be trusted. He must hold firmly to it. Then he will be able to use true teaching to comfort others and build them up. He will be able to prove that people who oppose it are wrong.

弟兄们，由此可见，你们当站立得稳；你们所领受的传统，无论是藉着我们的话语，还是藉着我们的书信，你们都要持守。

你要藉着在基督耶稣里的信和爱，把你从我所听到的健全话语，做为规范好好持守。

“基督耶稣来到这世界，为要拯救罪人。”这话是信实的，值得完全接受。在罪人中我是首恶，

如果有人传讲别的教义，不符合我们主耶稣基督的健全话语以及那合乎敬神的教导，

淫乱的、同性恋的、拐卖人口的、说谎的、起假誓的，以及其他任何反对健全教义的人。

却要凡事分辨，要持守美善，

至于你，你所讲的要与健全的教义相宜：

你当买真理、智慧、管教和悟性，不可卖掉它们！

温柔地管教那些反对的人；或许神会赐给这些人悔改的心，到真理的知识当中。

这话是信实的，值得完全接受。

但如果大家都做先知传道，有一个不信的或不明白的人进来，他就会因这一切而知罪、受到责问，

因为时候将到，人们容忍不了健全的教义，反要顺着自己的欲望，为自己的耳朵能被呵痒得舒服，去召聚许多教师。

各位蒙爱的人哪，我一直十分殷切地要写信给你们，谈论我们共有的救恩；我感到有必要写信鼓励你们，为曾经一次性地托付给圣徒们的信仰而努力争战，

必须堵住这些人的口。他们为了不正当的利益，教导不该教导的事，把许多人的整个家庭都破坏了。

所以你应当记住你所领受、所听见的是什么；你应当持守，应当悔改。如果你不警醒，我就要来临，就像贼来临那样；而你绝不会知道我什么时候临到你。

不过你们应当持守你们所拥有的，直到我来。

你要把那些在许多见证人面前从我所听见的，交托给那些忠心可靠、又有能力教导别人的人。

因为他当众强有力地驳倒犹太人，用经文证明耶稣是基督。

持守信仰和无愧的良心。有些人弃绝了这样的良心，就在信仰上遭到了毁灭，

你自己要在一切事上做出美好工作的榜样；教导的时候要正直、庄重，要用无可指责的健全话语，使反对的人在我们的事上因没有坏话可说，就感到羞愧。

我快要来了！你应当持守你所拥有的，免得有人拿走你的冠冕。
