He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

The message as it has been taught can be trusted. He must hold firmly to it. Then he will be able to use true teaching to comfort others and build them up. He will be able to prove that people who oppose it are wrong.

你要靠着在基督耶稣里的信心和爱心，常常坚守从我这里听过的话，作为纯正话语的模范；

“基督耶稣降世，为要拯救罪人。”这话是可信的，是值得完全接纳的。在罪人中我是个罪魁。

如果有人传别的教义，不接受我们的主耶稣基督纯正的话语，和那敬虔的道理，

淫乱的、亲男色的、拐带人口的、说谎话的、发假誓的，以及为其他抵挡纯正教训的人设立的。

凡事都要察验，好的要持守，

至于你，你应当讲合乎纯正的道理。

耶和华问撒但：“你有没有注意到我的仆人约伯？世上再也没有一个人像他那样完全、正直，敬畏神，远离罪恶。虽然你挑拨我与他作对，无缘无故使他倾家荡产，他还是坚守自己的纯全。”

你要买真理，不可出卖；要得智慧、教训和哲理。

以温柔劝导那些对抗的人，或许神给他们悔改的心，可以认识真理。

这话是可信的，是值得完全接纳的。

如果大家都讲道，有未信的人或不明白的人进来，他就会被众人劝服而知罪，被众人审问了。

因为时候快要到了，人必容不下纯正的道理，反而耳朵发痒，随着自己的私欲，增添许多教师，

亲爱的，尽管我曾经迫切地想写信给你们，论到我们共享的救恩；现在我更觉得必须写信劝勉你们，要竭力维护从前一次就全交给了圣徒的信仰，

他们为了可耻的利益，教训一些不应该教导的事，败坏人的全家，你务要堵住他们的嘴。

所以，你应当回想你是怎样领受、怎样听见的；应该遵守，也应该悔改。你若不警醒，我就要像贼来到一样。我什么时候来到你那里，你决不能知道。

不过，你们要持守已经得着的，直到我来。

又应当把你在许多见证人面前从我这里听见的，交托给那些又忠心又能够教导别人的人。

我坚守我的义决不放松，我一生的日子我的心必不责备我。

因为他当众有力地驳倒犹太人，引用圣经证明耶稣是基督。

常常存着信心和无愧的良心。有些人丢弃良心，就在信仰上失落了。

无论在什么事上你都要显出好行为的榜样，在教导上要纯全，要庄重，言词要纯正，无可指摘，使反对的人因为无从毁谤，就自觉惭愧。

我必快来！你要持守你所有的，不要让人拿走你的冠冕。
