以食物論潔者食之、無不潔、不信不潔者食之、無一潔、蓋其心志已浼矣、

凡物於潔者無有不潔、於見污及不信者、一無所潔、因其心其志亦已污矣、

由潔者視之、凡物皆潔；若由不潔不信者視之、則萬物皆污、實則其心地自不淨耳。

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

To people who are pure, all things are pure. But to those who have twisted minds and don’t believe, nothing is pure. In fact, their minds and their sense of what is right and wrong are twisted.

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.

( I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. Still, to someone who considers a thing to be unclean, to that one it is unclean.)

Do not tear down God’s work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong for a man to cause stumbling by what he eats.

“ Everything is permissible,” but not everything is helpful.“ Everything is permissible,” but not everything builds up.

They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods that God created to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth.For everything created by God is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

But whoever doubts stands condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from a conviction, and everything that is not from a conviction is sin.

“ Everything is permissible for me,” but not everything is helpful.“ Everything is permissible for me,” but I will not be brought under the control of anything.“ Food for the stomach and the stomach for food,” but God will do away with both of them. The body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

But the Lord said to him:“ Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and evil.Fools! Didn’t He who made the outside make the inside too?But give from what is within to the poor, and then everything is clean for you.

But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this defiles a man.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory.

Again, a second time, a voice said to him,“ What God has made clean, you must not call common.”

However, not everyone has this knowledge. In fact, some have been so used to idolatry up until now that when they eat food offered to an idol, their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

Eat everything that is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake,

Then Haggai asked,“ If someone defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” The priests answered,“ It becomes defiled.”

how much more will the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain.

“ Ask all the people of the land and the priests: When you fasted and lamented in the fifth and in the seventh months for these 70 years, did you really fast for Me?When you eat and drink, don’t you eat and drink simply for yourselves?

The lamp that guides the wicked— haughty eyes and an arrogant heart— is sin.

Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord.So a man should examine himself; in this way he should eat the bread and drink from the cup.For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.
