我保羅做基督耶穌的奴僕、蒙召的使徒，是為了神的福音被分別出來的。

如果有人傳講別的教義，不符合我們主耶穌基督的健全話語以及那合乎敬神的教導，

主耶穌神性的大能，因我們真正認識以自己的榮耀和美德召喚我們的那一位，就把一切有關生命和敬神的事都賜給了我們。

要拒絕愚拙無知的辯論，因為你知道這些只會引起爭鬥，

事實上，神拯救萬民的恩典已經顯明出來了。這恩典管教我們，使我們拒絕不敬神的事和地上的欲望，在今世能過自制、公義、敬神的生活，

既然這一切都要如此被廢除，那麼，你們應該做什麼樣的人呢？應該行為聖潔、敬畏神，

溫柔地管教那些反對的人；或許神會賜給這些人悔改的心，到真理的知識當中。

也不可關注那些編造的故事和無窮的家譜：這些事只帶來疑惑，而無助於神所賜的信仰上的任務。這樣吩咐的目的是愛。愛是發自潔淨的心、無愧的良心，以及不虛假的信仰。

蒙主所愛的弟兄們，我們應該為你們常常感謝神，因為神為了救恩的緣故，就藉著在聖靈裡的分別為聖，以及真理的信仰，揀選了你們做為初熟的果子。為此，神也藉著我們的福音召喚了你們，使你們獲得我們主耶穌基督的榮耀。

正如大家所承認的，敬神的奧祕是極大的：神以肉身顯現，被聖靈證實，被天使觀看，被傳於萬邦，被世人信仰，被接在榮耀裡。

他願意所有的人都得救，來到真理的知識當中。

好讓他們的心受到安慰，在愛中結合在一起，以致得到由悟性的確信不疑而來的一切豐盛，直到真正認識神的奧祕，就是基督——

外邦人聽了這話就感到歡喜，不住地榮耀主的福音，凡是被預定進入永恆生命的人都信了。
