Return, return to us, O maid of Shulam. Come back, come back, that we may see you again. Why do you stare at this young woman of Shulam, as she moves so gracefully between two lines of dancers?

Come back, come back, Shulammite! Come back, come back, that we may look at you! Why are you looking at the Shulammite, as you look at the dance of the two camps?

Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies.

( 7: 1) Turn, turn, O Perfect One! Turn, turn, that I may stare at you! Why do you gaze upon the Perfect One like the dance of the Mahanaim?

Return, return, Shulammite! Return, return, that we may gaze at you. Why do you desire to gaze at the Shulammite, as at the dance of Mahanaim?

Jacob saw them. He said,“ This is the army of God!” So he named that place Mahanaim.

“ You are like a dove in an opening in the rocks. You are like a dove in a hiding place on a mountainside. Show me your face. Let me hear your voice. Your voice is so sweet. Your face is so lovely.

I have other sheep that do not belong to this sheep pen. I must bring them in too. They also will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Don’t stare at me because I’m dark. The sun has made my skin look like this. My brothers were angry with me. They made me take care of the vineyards. I haven’t even taken care of my own vineyard.

Christ himself is our peace. He has made Jews and Gentiles into one group of people. He has destroyed the hatred that was like a wall between us.Through his body on the cross, Christ set aside the law with all its commands and rules. He planned to create one new people out of Jews and Gentiles. He wanted to make peace between them.He planned to bring both Jews and Gentiles back to God as one body. He planned to do this through the cross. On that cross, Christ put to death their hatred toward one another.He came and preached peace to you who were far away. He also preached peace to those who were near.

Go. Announce this message to the people in the north. Tell them,“‘ Israel, you have not been faithful,’ announces the Lord.‘ Return to me. Then I will do good things for you again. That’s because I am faithful,’ announces the Lord.‘ I will not be angry with you forever.Admit that you are guilty of doing what is wrong. You have refused to obey me. I am the Lord your God. You have committed adultery with other gods. You worshiped them under every green tree. And you have not obeyed me,’ ” announces the Lord.“ You people have not been faithful,” announces the Lord.“ Return to me. I am your husband. I will choose one of you from each town. I will choose two from each territory. And I will bring you to the city of Zion.

and watch. The young women of Shiloh will come out. They’ll join in the dancing. When they do, run out of the vineyards. Each of you grab a young woman from Shiloh to be your wife. Then return to the land of Benjamin.

But I see another law working in me. It fights against the law of my mind. It makes me a prisoner of the law of sin. That law controls me.

“ I am like the gently flowing stream of Siloam. But the people of Judah have turned their backs on me. They are filled with joy because of the fall of Rezin and the son of Remaliah.

The right to rule will not leave Judah. The ruler’s scepter will not be taken from between his feet. It will be his until the king it belongs to will come. The nations will obey that king.

David went to Mahanaim. Absalom went across the Jordan River with all the men of Israel.

The desires controlled by sin do not want what the Spirit delights in. And the Spirit does not want what the desires controlled by sin delight in. The two are at war with each other. That’s why you are not supposed to do whatever you want.

His tent is in Jerusalem. The place where he lives is on Mount Zion.

Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means“ king of what is right.” Also,“ king of Salem” means“ king of peace.”

Then he turned toward the woman. He said to Simon,“ Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water to wash my feet. But she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

“ Go,” he told him.“ Wash in the Pool of Siloam.” Siloam means Sent. So the man went and washed. And he came home able to see.

All these things will happen when he comes. On that day his glory will be seen in his holy people. Everyone who has believed will be amazed when they see him. This includes you, because you believed the witness we gave you.

Finally, let the Lord make you strong. Depend on his mighty power.Put on all of God’s armor. Then you can remain strong against the devil’s evil plans.Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.So put on all of God’s armor. Evil days will come. But you will be able to stand up to anything. And after you have done everything you can, you will still be standing.So remain strong in the faith. Put the belt of truth around your waist. Put the armor of godliness on your chest.Wear on your feet what will prepare you to tell the good news of peace.Also, pick up the shield of faith. With it you can put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Put on the helmet of salvation. And take the sword of the Holy Spirit. The sword is God’s word.At all times, pray by the power of the Spirit. Pray all kinds of prayers. Be watchful, so that you can pray. Always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.Pray also for me. Pray that whenever I speak, the right words will be given to me. Then I can be bold as I tell the mystery of the good news.

Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of Gentiles? Yes, he is their God too.

“ You have not been faithful,” says the Lord.“ Return to me. I will heal you. Then you will not turn away from me anymore.”“ Yes,” the people say.“ We will come to you. You are the Lord our God.

Israel, return to the Lord your God. Your sins have destroyed you!Tell the Lord you are turning away from your sins. Return to him. Say to him,“ Forgive us for all our sins. Please be kind to us. But I will put an end to that. My anger has turned away from them. Now I will love them freely.

I tell you, it is the same in heaven. There is joy in heaven over one sinner who turns away from sin.”
