At the time of the evening offering I got up from my self-abasement, with my tunic and robe torn, and then dropped to my knees and spread my hands to the LORD my God.I prayed,“ O my God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift my face to you, my God! For our iniquities have climbed higher than our heads, and our guilt extends to the heavens.

O you who stay in the gardens, my companions are listening attentively for your voice; let me be the one to hear it!

I am dark but lovely, O maidens of Jerusalem, dark like the tents of Qedar, lovely like the tent curtains of Salmah.

He added,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and will cover you with my hand while I pass by.Then I will take away my hand, and you will see my back, but my face must not be seen.”

I was asleep, but my mind was dreaming. Listen! My lover is knocking at the door!“ Open for me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one! My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”

The LORD said to him,“ Who gave a mouth to man, or who makes a person mute or deaf or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?So now go, and I will be with your mouth and will teach you what you must say.”But Moses said,“ O my Lord, please send anyone else whom you wish to send!”

Leave your towns, you inhabitants of Moab. Go and live in the cliffs. Be like a dove that makes its nest high on the sides of a ravine.

Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

When the woman saw that she could not escape notice, she came trembling and fell down before him. In the presence of all the people, she explained why she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.Then he said to her,“ Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Certainly the LORD will console Zion; he will console all her ruins. He will make her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the Garden of the LORD. Happiness and joy will be restored to her, thanksgiving and the sound of music.

But she is unique! My dove, my perfect one! She is the special daughter of her mother, she is the favorite of the one who bore her. The maidens saw her and complimented her; the queens and concubines praised her:“ Who is this who appears like the dawn? Beautiful as the moon, bright as the sun, awe-inspiring as the stars in procession?”

“ I am sending you out like sheep surrounded by wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

If I summoned him, and he answered me, I would not believe that he would be listening to my voice–

“ You are righteous, O Lord, but we are humiliated this day– the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far away in all the countries in which you have scattered them, because they have behaved unfaithfully toward you.

Do not hand the life of your dove over to a wild animal! Do not continue to disregard the lives of your oppressed people!

The LORD abhors the sacrifices of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

After these things I looked, and here was an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands.They were shouting out in a loud voice,“ Salvation belongs to our God, to the one seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, without blemish before his glorious presence,

so that he may present the church to himself as glorious– not having a stain or wrinkle, or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

Oh, how beautiful you are, my beloved! Oh, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are like doves!

The terror you inspire in others and the arrogance of your heart have deceived you. You may make your home in the clefts of the rocks; you may occupy the highest places in the hills. But even if you made your home where the eagles nest, I would bring you down from there,” says the LORD.

Each one of the four living creatures had six wings and was full of eyes all around and inside. They never rest day or night, saying:“ Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God, the All- Powerful, Who was and who is, and who is still to come!”And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,the twenty- four elders throw themselves to the ground before the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever, and they offer their crowns before his throne, saying:

Who are these who float along like a cloud, who fly like doves to their shelters?

I said,“ Too bad for me! I am destroyed, for my lips are contaminated by sin, and I live among people whose lips are contaminated by sin. My eyes have seen the king, the LORD who commands armies.”

You are holy; you sit as king receiving the praises of Israel.

Whoever presents a thank-offering honors me. To whoever obeys my commands, I will reveal my power to deliver.”

Then the king will be attracted by your beauty. After all, he is your master! Submit to him!

If you do not know, O most beautiful of women, simply follow the tracks of my flock, and pasture your little lambs beside the tents of the shepherds.

When you lie down among the sheepfolds, the wings of the dove are covered with silver and with glittering gold.

so they themselves can go into the crevices of the rocky cliffs and the openings under the rocky overhangs, trying to escape the dreadful judgment of the LORD and his royal splendor, when he rises up to terrify the earth.

but now he has reconciled you by his physical body through death to present you holy, without blemish, and blameless before him–

and when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty- four elders threw themselves to the ground before the Lamb. Each of them had a harp and golden bowls full of incense( which are the prayers of the saints).

After Jesus was baptized, just as he was coming up out of the water, the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming on him.

Their survivors will escape to the mountains and become like doves of the valleys; all of them will moan– each one for his iniquity.

Your presumptuous heart has deceived you– you who reside in the safety of the rocky cliffs, whose home is high in the mountains. You think to yourself,‘ No one can bring me down to the ground!’

let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.

Present to God a thank-offering! Repay your vows to the sovereign One!Pray to me when you are in trouble! I will deliver you, and you will honor me!”
