意灑雅亦曾大聲疾呼、而告國人曰：『即使義塞子孫多於海沙、蒙救者亦不過餘數而已。

到那日，以色列所剩下的和雅各家所逃脱的，不再倚靠那击打他们的，却要诚实倚靠耶和华以色列的圣者。所剩下的，就是雅各家所剩下的，必归回全能的神。以色列啊，你的百姓虽多如海沙，惟有剩下的归回。原来灭绝的事已定，必有公义施行，如水涨溢。因为主万军之耶和华在全地之中必成就所定规的结局。

神的回话是怎么说的呢？他说：“我为自己留下七千人，是未曾向巴力屈膝的。”如今也是这样，照着拣选的恩典，还有所留的余数。既是出于恩典，就不在乎行为；不然，恩典就不是恩典了。

“然而，以色列的人数必如海沙，不可量，不可数。从前在什么地方对他们说：‘你们不是我的子民’，将来在那里必对他们说：‘你们是永生神的儿子’。

你们要上她葡萄园的墙施行毁坏，但不可毁坏净尽，只可除掉她的枝子，因为不属耶和华。

论福，我必赐大福给你；论子孙，我必叫你的子孙多起来，如同天上的星，海边的沙。你子孙必得着仇敌的城门，

若不是万军之耶和华给我们稍留余种，我们早已像所多玛、蛾摩拉的样子了。

“你们分散在各国的时候，我必在列邦中使你们有剩下脱离刀剑的人。

当那日，主必二次伸手救回自己百姓中所余剩的，就是在亚述、埃及、巴忒罗、古实、以拦、示拿、哈马，并众海岛所剩下的。

当乌西雅、约坦、亚哈斯、希西家作犹大王的时候，亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚得默示，论到犹大和耶路撒冷。

在地上的万民中，必像打过的橄榄树，又像已摘的葡萄所剩无几。

我们岂可再违背你的命令，与这行可憎之事的民结亲呢？若这样行，你岂不向我们发怒，将我们灭绝，以致没有一个剩下逃脱的人吗？

现在耶和华我们的神暂且施恩与我们，给我们留些逃脱的人，使我们安稳如钉子钉在他的圣所，我们的神好光照我们的眼目，使我们在受辖制之中稍微复兴。

耶和华必将以色列人交付敌人，直等那生产的妇人生下子来。那时掌权者其余的弟兄必归到以色列人那里。他必起来，倚靠耶和华的大能，并耶和华他神之名的威严，牧养他的羊群。他们要安然居住；因为他必日见尊大，直到地极。这位必作我们的平安。当亚述人进入我们的地境，践踏宫殿的时候，我们就立起七个牧者，八个首领攻击他。他们必用刀剑毁坏亚述地和宁录地的关口。亚述人进入我们的地境践踏的时候，他必拯救我们。雅各余剩的人必在多国的民中，如从耶和华那里降下的露水，又如甘霖降在草上；不仗赖人力，也不等候世人之功。雅各余剩的人必在多国多民中，如林间百兽中的狮子，又如少壮狮子在羊群中。他若经过就必践踏撕裂，无人搭救。
