又使爾受患難者、與我儕共得平安、迨主耶穌偕其有能之天使由天而現之時、以烈火烈火原文作火焰施刑、而報不識天主不服我耶穌基督福音者、彼必受刑、永遠沈淪、離主之面及其大能之榮光、當日主降臨、因諸聖徒而受榮、因諸信者而受讚、受讚或作見異爾曹既信我儕於爾中所證之言、亦在其內、因此我儕常為爾祈禱、願我天主視爾堪受此召、以大能使爾克成所悅之善及信主之功、使我主耶穌之名、因爾得榮、爾亦因彼得榮、循我天主及主耶穌基督之恩也、

故當堅心、如束腰然、警醒、盼望耶穌基督顯現時將賜爾之恩、

基督乃我生命、彼顯現時、爾曹亦必與之同顯於榮光中、

人為我而詬詈爾、窘逐爾、造諸惡言、誹謗爾、則爾福矣、當欣喜歡樂、因在天爾之賞大也、蓋先爾諸先知、人亦曾如是窘逐之也、○

願與天主民同受苦、不願暫享罪惡之逸樂、彼以為為基督而受之辱、較伊及諸財尤寶、因望賞賚故也、

為此天主亦以我所傳之福音召爾、欲爾得我主耶穌基督之榮、

我為長老、作基督受苦之證、且共享將顯之榮、勸爾中同為長老者、

有婦得見其死者復活、有人受酷刑而不苟免、為欲得更美之復活、
