所以丈夫活着，她若歸於別人，便叫淫婦；丈夫若死了，她就脫離了丈夫的律法，雖然歸於別人，也不是淫婦。

由此可见，丈夫还活着的时候，她如果归向别的男人，就被称为淫妇；但如果丈夫死了，她就脱离那律法得了自由，即使归向别的男人，也不是淫妇。

是以夫在而他適者、謂之淫婦、夫死則見釋於律、雖他適不為淫、

夫在而他從、是謂淫婦、夫死則脫夫法、雖他從、不為淫、

夫在而從他人、是謂淫婦、夫死則釋於此法、雖從他人、不為淫婦、

其夫存而改適者、是謂不貞。若夫既死、則無復法律之拘束、雖再嫁亦不為失貞。

So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.

But suppose that married woman sleeps with another man while her husband is still alive. Then she is called a woman who commits adultery. But suppose her husband dies. Then she is free from that law. She is not guilty of adultery if she marries another man.

Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.

So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.

So then, if she is married to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she is married to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then, if while her husband is alive she gives herself to another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress if she gives herself to another man.

So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.

So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man.

So then, if she gives herself to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she gives herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then if, while[ her] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.

「不可姦淫。

只是我告訴你們，凡休妻的，若不是為淫亂的緣故，就是叫她作淫婦了；人若娶這被休的婦人，也是犯姦淫了。」

但從起初創造的時候，神造人是造男造女。因此，人要離開父母，與妻子連合，二人成為一體。既然如此，夫妻不再是兩個人，乃是一體的了。所以，神配合的，人不可分開。」到了屋裏，門徒就問他這事。耶穌對他們說：「凡休妻另娶的，就是犯姦淫，辜負他的妻子；妻子若離棄丈夫另嫁，也是犯姦淫了。」

「若遇見人與有丈夫的婦人行淫，就要將姦夫淫婦一併治死。這樣，就把那惡從以色列中除掉。「若有處女已經許配丈夫，有人在城裏遇見她，與她行淫，你們就要把這二人帶到本城門，用石頭打死－女子是因為雖在城裏卻沒有喊叫；男子是因為玷污別人的妻。這樣，就把那惡從你們中間除掉。

文士和法利賽人帶着一個行淫時被拿的婦人來，叫她站在當中，就對耶穌說：「夫子，這婦人是正行淫之時被拿的。摩西在律法上吩咐我們把這樣的婦人用石頭打死。你說該把她怎麼樣呢？」

大衛聽見拿八死了，就說：「應當稱頌耶和華，因他伸了拿八羞辱我的冤，又阻止僕人行惡；也使拿八的惡歸到拿八的頭上。」於是大衛打發人去，與亞比該說，要娶她為妻。大衛的僕人到了迦密見亞比該，對她說：「大衛打發我們來見你，想要娶你為妻。」亞比該就起來，俯伏在地，說：「我情願作婢女，洗我主僕人的腳。」亞比該立刻起身，騎上驢，帶着五個使女，跟從大衛的使者去了，就作了大衛的妻。

路得說：「我主啊，願在你眼前蒙恩。我雖然不及你的一個使女，你還用慈愛的話安慰我的心。」

有人與她行淫，事情嚴密，瞞過她丈夫，而且她被玷污，沒有作見證的人，當她行淫的時候也沒有被捉住，她丈夫生了疑恨的心，疑恨她，她是被玷污，或是她丈夫生了疑恨的心，疑恨她，她並沒有被玷污，這人就要將妻送到祭司那裏，又為她帶着大麥麵伊法十分之一作供物，不可澆上油，也不可加上乳香；因為這是疑恨的素祭，是思念的素祭，使人思念罪孽。「祭司要使那婦人近前來，站在耶和華面前。祭司要把聖水盛在瓦器裏，又從帳幕的地上取點塵土，放在水中。祭司要叫那婦人蓬頭散髮，站在耶和華面前，把思念的素祭，就是疑恨的素祭，放在她手中。祭司手裏拿着致咒詛的苦水，要叫婦人起誓，對她說：『若沒有人與你行淫，也未曾背着丈夫做污穢的事，你就免受這致咒詛苦水的災。你若背着丈夫行了污穢的事，在你丈夫以外有人與你行淫，（祭司叫婦人發咒起誓），願耶和華叫你大腿消瘦，肚腹發脹，使你在你民中被人咒詛，成了誓語；並且這致咒詛的水入你的腸中，要叫你的肚腹發脹，大腿消瘦。』婦人要回答說：『阿們，阿們。』「祭司要寫這咒詛的話，將所寫的字抹在苦水裏，又叫婦人喝這致咒詛的苦水；這水要進入她裏面變苦了。祭司要從婦人的手中取那疑恨的素祭，在耶和華面前搖一搖，拿到壇前；又要從素祭中取出一把，作為這事的紀念，燒在壇上，然後叫婦人喝這水。叫她喝了以後，她若被玷污，得罪了丈夫，這致咒詛的水必進入她裏面變苦了，她的肚腹就要發脹，大腿就要消瘦，那婦人便要在他民中被人咒詛。若婦人沒有被玷污，卻是清潔的，就要免受這災，且要懷孕。「妻子背着丈夫行了污穢的事，或是人生了疑恨的心，疑恨他的妻，就有這疑恨的條例。那時他要叫婦人站在耶和華面前，祭司要在她身上照這條例而行。男人就為無罪，婦人必擔當自己的罪孽。」

至於年輕的寡婦，就可以辭她；因為她們的情慾發動，違背基督的時候就想要嫁人。她們被定罪，是因廢棄了當初所許的願；並且她們又習慣懶惰，挨家閒遊；不但是懶惰，又說長道短，好管閒事，說些不當說的話。所以我願意年輕的寡婦嫁人，生養兒女，治理家務，不給敵人辱罵的把柄。

「與鄰舍之妻行淫的，姦夫淫婦都必治死。
