所以，正如罪是藉著一個人進入了世界，並且死是藉著罪進入的；這樣，因為人人都犯了罪，死也就臨到了所有的人。

这就如罪是从一人入了世界，死又是从罪来的，于是死就临到众人，因为众人都犯了罪。

为此，正如罪是从一人进入世界，死又从罪而来，于是死就临到所有的人，因为人人都犯了罪。

是以罪由一人入世、因罪而有死、於是死延於眾、以皆獲罪也、

且以一人、在世有罪、因罪而死、於是人皆有罪、人皆有死、

是以自從罪由一人入世、死因罪而有、則死臨於眾人、以眾人犯罪、

夫罪緣一人之身、而侵入斯世；罪之所至、死則隨之；人皆有罪、亦皆有死。

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

因為死亡既然是由一個人而來，死人的復活也是由一個人而來。原來，就像在亞當裡所有的人都死了，照樣，在基督裡所有的人也都將得以復活，

就是說，藉著一個人的悖逆，眾人怎樣都成了罪人；藉著一個人的順從，眾人將怎樣成為義人。

因為罪的工價就是死；但神的恩賜，在我們的主基督耶穌裡，卻是永恆的生命。

只是分辨善惡樹上的果實，你不可吃，因為在吃的日子，你必定死。」

要知道，每個人都犯了罪，虧缺了神的榮耀；

一旦欲望懷了胎，就生下罪來；罪長成了，就生出死亡。

你必汗流滿面才有飯吃，直到你歸回土地，因為你是從那裡取出來的。你本是塵土，就要歸回塵土。」

看哪，我在罪孽裡出生；我母親懷胎時，我就在罪中！

這樣，就像罪藉著死亡掌權，恩典也照樣藉著義掌權，使人藉著我們的主耶穌基督進入永恆的生命。

女人見那棵樹的果實作為食物很好，又悅人眼目，並且因使人有智慧而令人喜愛，就摘下果實吃了，還給了與她在一起的丈夫，她丈夫也吃了。

然後，死亡和陰間被丟進火湖裡，這火湖就是第二次的死亡。凡是名字沒有被記在生命冊上的人，都被丟進了火湖裡。

實際上，我們每一個人在很多事上都會跌倒。如果有人在言語上不跌倒，這個人就是一個成熟的人，也能夠克制全身。

然而，從亞當到摩西，死亡掌了權，甚至那些沒有按亞當過犯的樣式犯罪的人，也在死的權下。這亞當是以後要來的那一位的象徵。但是恩賜不同於過犯。原來，一個人的過犯尚且使眾人都死了，何況神的恩典和耶穌基督一個人恩典裡的賞賜，難道不更要豐豐富富地臨到眾人嗎？而且，恩賜不同於由一個人犯罪而來的後果。因為，由一次過犯而來的審判雖然導致了定罪，但由很多過犯而來的恩賜卻導致了稱義。實際上，一個人的過犯尚且使死亡藉著這一個人掌了權，何況那些領受豐富之恩典和稱義之賞賜的人，難道不更要藉著耶穌基督一個人，在生命裡掌權嗎？

耶和華神說：「看哪，那人已經與我們相似，知道善惡；現在恐怕他又伸出手，取生命樹的果實來吃，那樣他就會永遠活著。」於是耶和華神就把他趕出伊甸園，去耕耘土地——他本是從那裡取出來的。耶和華神驅逐了那人，又在伊甸園的東邊安置了基路伯和四周旋轉的火焰之劍，來看守通往生命樹的道路。
