But things are different with God. He makes ungodly people right with himself. If people trust in him, their faith is accepted even though they do not work. Their faith makes them right with God.

We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.“ But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. (niv)

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. (niv)

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all— how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?
