經不云乎：『亞伯漢篤信天主、因是而稱義焉。』

What does Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

What do we find in Scripture? It says,“ Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham’s faith, and so his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6)

Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.

just as Abraham“ believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying,“ In you all the nations shall be blessed.”

And that was accounted to him for righteousness To all generations forevermore.

God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,

And therefore“ it was accounted to him for righteousness.”Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

For the Scripture says,“ Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh,“ For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.”

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain,“ The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

Have you not even read this Scripture:‘ The stone which the builders rejectedHas become the chief cornerstone.

knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
