亞伯漢於無望之中、懷無窮之望；且深信其必成萬邦之父、一如天主所示：「爾之苗裔、將同繁星」之金諾。

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him,“ So shall your offspring be.”

When there was no reason for hope, Abraham believed because he had hope. He became the father of many nations, exactly as God had promised. God said,“ That is how many children you will have.”( Genesis 15:5)

In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told,“ So shall your offspring be.”

Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping— believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him,“ That’s how many descendants you will have!”

He believed, hoping against hope, so that he became the father of many nations according to what had been spoken: So will your descendants be.

In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken,“ So shall your descendants be.”

Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Against hope Abraham believed in hope with the result that he became the father of many nations according to the pronouncement,“ so will your descendants be.”

Besides hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken,“ So will your offspring be.”

Then He brought him outside and said,“ Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him,“ So shall your descendants be.”And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said,“ Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue,“ Do not be afraid; only believe.”

Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.

But Naomi said,“ Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?Turn back, my daughters, go— for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, if I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons,would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord has gone out against me!”

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

( as it is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed— God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

Then He said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say,‘ Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’

And Zacharias said to the angel,“ How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead( since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
