Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.

食者不得輕視不食者；不食者亦不得指摘食者。彼固天主之所容也；

The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.

The person who eats everything must not look down on the one who does not. And the one who doesn’t eat everything must not judge the person who does. That’s because God has accepted them.

Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.

One who eats must not look down on one who does not eat, and one who does not eat must not judge one who does, because God has accepted him.

The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.

Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. Don’t let him who doesn’t eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him.

Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else:

So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

So because of your superior knowledge, a weak believer for whom Christ died will be destroyed.And when you sin against other believers by encouraging them to do something they believe is wrong, you are sinning against Christ.So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live— for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.

So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

And if another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died.

“ Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.

“ Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.

It might not be a matter of conscience for you, but it is for the other person.) For why should my freedom be limited by what someone else thinks?If I can thank God for the food and enjoy it, why should I be condemned for eating it?

So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.

Then Peter replied,“ I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.

One day the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus and asked him,“ Why don’t your disciples fast like we do and the Pharisees do?”

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”( The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.)

Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message.

For John didn’t spend his time eating and drinking, and you say,‘ He’s possessed by a demon.’The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say,‘ He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’ But wisdom is shown to be right by its results.”

God knows people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us.He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith.
