For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

God’s grace has been given to me. So here is what I say to every one of you. Don’t think of yourself more highly than you should. Be reasonable when you think about yourself. Keep in mind the faith God has given to each of you.

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.

Be not overly righteous, and do not make yourself too wise. Why should you destroy yourself?

whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies— in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says,“ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”( In saying,“ He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches.

That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying,“ Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of themand said,“ Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.

Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power.To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus:‘ God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,

from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! Without us you have become kings! And would that you did reign, so that we might share the rule with you!

It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one’s own glory.

likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,

Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.

and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Yet she will be saved through childbearing— if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. (niv)

Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, (niv)

For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. (niv)

To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me. (niv)

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, (niv)

In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, (niv)

How were you inferior to the other churches, except that I was never a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong! (niv)

Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave meto be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. (niv)
