爾為異邦人時、惑於瘖偶、隨所牽引、爾所知也、

勿雕偶像、勿造上天下地、地下水中、百物之像、

昔在何烈、耶和華由火中諭爾時、爾曹未見何像、故當謹慎、恐爾自敗、雕偶以仿諸像、或男或女、或地上走獸、空中飛禽、或地上昆蟲、水中鱗介、

如是、爾曹以誰比上帝、以何象像之、

爾其仰觀、凡此天象、為誰所造、誰核其數、而導之出、悉呼其名、因有大能大力、無不應命、○

爾往時從異邦人之欲、而行邪侈、縱恣、沉湎、荒宴、盤樂、及違理拜像之事亦足矣、

木工布繩、畫之以筆、治之以鐋、正之以規、象人之形、猶人之美、處之於室、

異邦偶像、乃銀乃金、人手所造、有口不言、有目不見、有耳不聞、有口無氣、造之者、賴之者、必似之兮、

其餘未死於此災者、不悔其手之所為、仍拜諸鬼與金銀銅木石之偶、乃不能見不能聞不能行者也、
