I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—

I long to see you. I want to make you strong by giving you a gift from the Holy Spirit.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

For I want very much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

Now after these things were finished, Paul resolved in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, saying,“ After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

And the heart of King David longed to go out to Absalom; for he was comforted regarding Amnon, since he was dead.

For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?Did you suffer so many things in vain— if indeed it was in vain?So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you for the benefit of your faith,

so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.

comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

They rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa; and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said,“ Listen to me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: Put your trust in the Lord your God and you will endure. Put your trust in His prophets, and succeed.”

Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them and have been established in the truth which is present with you.

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

Therefore it says,“ When He ascended on high, He led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.”( Now this expression,“ He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers,for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ;

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment,but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

So the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily.

Through Silvanus, our faithful brother( for so I regard him), I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,

so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and relax in your company.

For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!

because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be unaware.You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“ Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

Do not be misled by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

And David had a craving and said,“ Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem which is by the gate!”

Now you have indeed gone away because you longed greatly for your father’s house; but why did you steal my gods?”
