剪虫剩下的，蝗虫吃了；蝗虫剩下的，蝻子吃了；蝻子剩下的，蚂蚱吃了。

我差遣到你们中间去的，我的大军队，就是蝗虫、蝻子、蚂蚱和剪虫，在那些年间吃尽的，我必补给你们。

蝗虫没有能力杀死他们，只可使他们受痛苦五个月。他们的痛苦就像人给蝎子螫了的痛苦一样。

它们好像蝎子一样有尾巴和毒刺，它们的尾巴能伤害人五个月。它们有无底坑的使者作王统治它们。这王的名字，希伯来话叫阿巴顿，希腊话叫阿波伦。

我父亲把一个重担加在你们身上，我要使你们负更重的重担；我父亲用鞭子责打你们，我要用蝎子鞭责打你们。’”

那时米甸人、亚玛力人和所有的东方人，都散布在平原上，好像蝗虫那么多；他们的骆驼无数，好像海边的沙那么多。

在那里火要烧灭你，刀剑要除灭你，吞吃你，好像吞吃蚱蜢一样，你只管增多如蚱蜢，加添像蝗虫，

如果你拒绝让我的人民离开，看哪！明天我要使蝗虫进入你的境界；蝗虫必遮盖地面，甚至人不能看见地；蝗虫必吃尽那避过灾难余剩的，那没有受冰雹击打，剩下留给你们的；它们也必吃尽田间给你们生长起来的一切树木。蝗虫必充满了你的宫殿，你所有臣仆的房屋，和所有埃及人的房屋；这是你祖宗和你祖宗的祖宗自从在世以来，直到今日，所没有见过的。’”摩西就转身，离开法老出去了。法老的臣仆对法老说：“这人成为我们的网罗要到几时呢？让这些人离开吧，使他们可以事奉耶和华他们的神；埃及已经毁灭了，你还不知道吗？”于是，摩西和亚伦被召回来到法老那里。法老对他们说：“你们去事奉耶和华你们的神吧，但那些要去的是谁呢？”摩西回答：“我们要和我们年少的与年老的同去，要和我们的儿女同去，也要和我们的羊群与牛群同去，因为我们必须向耶和华守节。”法老对他们说：“我让你们和你们的孩子离开的时候，愿耶和华与你们同在；你们要谨慎，因为有祸患在你们面前。不可以这样，只有你们的男子可以去事奉耶和华，因为这原是你们要求的。”于是把他们从法老面前赶出去。耶和华对摩西说：“你要向埃及地伸手，使蝗虫上埃及地来，吃尽地上所有的蔬菜，就是受冰雹击打后留下的。”摩西就向埃及地伸杖，整整的一日一夜，耶和华把东风吹在地上；到了早晨，东风把蝗虫吹来了。蝗虫上到埃及全地来，停留在埃及全境。它们非常众多，以前没有像这样多的蝗虫，以后也没有。蝗虫遮盖了整个地面，以致大地都变黑了。它们吃尽了地上一切蔬菜，和树上所有的果子，就是受冰雹击打后留下来的。这样，在埃及全地，无论是树木，或田间的蔬菜，连一点青的也没有留下。

他引导你走过那大而可畏的旷野，那里有火蛇，有蝎子，有干旱无水之地；他曾经为你使水从坚硬的磐石中流出来。

“人子啊！至于你，虽然荆棘和蒺藜在你周围，你又住在蝎子群中，你不要怕他们，也不要怕他们讲的话。他们原是叛逆的民族，你总不要怕他们讲的话，在他们面前，也不要惊惶。

列国啊！你们所掳掠的必被收取，像蚂蚱收取禾稼一样；蝗虫怎样为食物忙碌走动，人也怎样在掳物上忙乱。

你的领袖多如蝗虫，你的军长像一群群的蚂蚱；天凉的时候，停留在篱笆上；太阳一出，就都飞走了；没有人知道它们在什么地方。

我已经给你们权柄，去践踏蛇和蝎子，胜过仇敌的一切能力。绝对没有什么能伤害你们了。
