天上的星辰和眾星座都不發光；太陽出來時就是黑的，月亮也不放光。

第一位天使吹響號角，就有冰雹和火，混著血被撒在地上；於是大地的三分之一被燒掉，樹木的三分之一被燒掉，所有的青草也都被燒掉了。第二位天使吹響號角，就有一座像被火燃燒著的大山被丟進海裡；於是海的三分之一變成血，海中有生命的被造之物的三分之一也死了，眾船隻的三分之一也被毀了。第三位天使吹響號角，就有一顆像火把一樣燃燒著的大星，從天上墜落，落在江河的三分之一和眾水的泉源上。這顆星的名字叫「苦艾」。於是眾水的三分之一變為苦艾，許多人就因這水變苦而死去了。第四位天使吹響號角，太陽的三分之一、月亮的三分之一、星辰的三分之一都被擊打，以致它們的三分之一變黑了；於是白晝的三分之一沒有光，夜晚也是如此。

耶和華宣告：「全地的人必有三分之二被剪除而死，有三分之一存留下來。我必使這三分之一進入火中，熬煉他們如熬煉銀子，察驗他們如察驗金子。他們將呼求我的名，我必應允他們。我必說：『他們是我的子民。』他們也必說：『耶和華是我們的神。』」

我又觀看，羔羊打開第六個封印的時候，發生了大地震。太陽變黑像粗毛布，整個月亮變得像血。

這不法之人的到來，是出於撒旦的作為，對那些正在滅亡的人，使用一切能力、虛假的神蹟和奇事，並且使用一切不義的詭計，因為他們不接受那能使他們得救的真理之愛。為此，神就把一種迷惑人的力量送進他們裡面，使他們相信虛假之事，好使所有不相信真理而喜悅不義的人，都被定罪。

於是那四個使者就被釋放了。他們是為此年、此月、此日、此時所預備好的，為要殺死人類的三分之一。

「那些日子的患難一過去，『太陽就要變黑，月亮也不發光，星辰要從天上墜落，諸天的各勢力也將被震動。』

到了中午十二點，黑暗籠罩了整個大地，一直到下午三點。

「在太陽、月亮和星辰中將有徵兆出現；在地上，因海洋的咆哮和翻騰，列國的人就驚慌失措，陷入困惑混亂之中；

那時大約是中午十二點，黑暗籠罩了整個大地，一直到下午三點。太陽失去了光，同時，聖所裡的幔子裂成兩半。

「在那些日子裡，隨著那患難，『太陽就要變黑，月亮也不發光，

牠的尾巴拖著天上星辰的三分之一，把它們摔在地上。這龍站在那快要生產的婦人面前，為要在她生產之後，吞吃她的孩子。

從中午十二點起，黑暗籠罩了整個大地，一直到下午三點。

由於這三樣災害，就是從馬口中所噴出的火、煙、硫磺，人類的三分之一被殺了。

那時，月亮抱愧，太陽蒙羞，因為萬軍之耶和華必在錫安山、在耶路撒冷作王，並在他的長老們面前顯出榮耀。

在主那大而顯赫的日子來到之前，太陽要變為黑暗，月亮要變為血。

第四位天使把他的碗倒在太陽上，太陽就被准許用火灼烤人。人們被大炎熱灼烤，就褻瀆了那有權柄統管這些災害的神的名；他們也不悔改，不把榮耀歸給他。

對於他們，這世代的神把這些不信之人的心眼弄瞎了，使他們不能洞察基督榮耀的福音之光。基督就是神的形像。
