‘ He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

祂必永遠吞滅死亡。主耶和華必擦去各人臉上的眼淚，從世上除掉祂子民的羞辱。這是耶和華說的。

因為在寶座中央的羔羊要作他們的牧人，引導他們到生命之泉那裡，上帝要擦乾他們所有的眼淚。」

祂最後要毀滅的仇敵就是死亡。

耶和華救贖的子民必歡唱著回到錫安，洋溢著永遠的快樂。他們必歡喜快樂，憂愁和歎息都消失無蹤。

你的太陽不再落下，你的月亮也不再消失，因為耶和華要作你永遠的光，你悲哀的日子將要結束。

當這一切發生的時候，就應驗了聖經上的話：「死亡被勝利吞滅了。」「死亡啊！你得勝的權勢在哪裡？死亡啊！你的毒鉤在哪裡？」死亡的毒鉤就是罪，罪藉著律法施展它的權勢。但感謝上帝，祂使我們靠著主耶穌基督得勝。所以，我親愛的弟兄姊妹，你們務要堅定不移，總要竭力做主的工作，因為你們知道自己在主裡面的辛勤付出不會白費。

你們要因我創造的一切而永遠歡喜快樂。看啊，我要創造一個充滿喜樂的耶路撒冷，其中的居民個個歡欣。我必因耶路撒冷而歡喜，因我的子民而快樂。城裡再聽不見哭泣和哀號聲。

接著我看見一個新天新地，因為以前的天地都消逝了，海洋也不復存在了。

那時，少女要歡然起舞，老人和青年要一起快樂。我要使他們轉憂為喜，我要安慰他們，使他們歡喜，不再憂愁。

之後，死亡和陰間也被扔進火湖裡，這火湖就是第二次的死。

耶和華所救贖的人必回來，必歡唱著回到錫安，得到永遠的福樂。他們將歡喜快樂，再沒有憂愁和歎息。

再也沒有咒詛，因為城裡有上帝和羔羊的寶座，祂的奴僕都要事奉祂。

天地都要過去，但我的話永遠長存。

住在耶路撒冷的錫安百姓啊，你們必不再哭泣。祂聽到你們的呼求後必恩待你們；祂聽見後必應允你們。

以華冠取代錫安哀傷者頭上的灰塵，以喜樂的膏油取代他們的哀傷，以頌讚的外袍取代他們的沮喪。他們將被稱為耶和華所栽種的公義橡樹，以彰顯祂的榮耀。

因為眾兒女都是血肉之軀，所以祂也同樣取了血肉之軀，為要親身經歷死亡，藉此摧毀掌握死亡權勢的魔鬼，釋放那些因怕死而一生做奴隸的人。

不過，主再來的日子要像賊一樣突然臨到。那日，諸天必在一聲巨響中消失，有形有質的都要被烈火焚毀，大地和其中的一切將不復存在。

因為人不過像一口氣，他的年日不過像影子轉眼消逝。

享用世界之物的，不要沉溺其中，因為現今的世界很快就要過去了。

我要把他們從陰間的權勢下贖回嗎？我要救他們脫離死亡嗎？死亡啊，你去降災給他們吧！陰間啊，你去毀滅他們吧！我不會再憐憫他們。

又說：「所以，你們要從他們中間出來，離開他們，不要沾染污穢之物，我就接納你們。
