I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

There were indeed false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves.Many will follow their depraved ways, and the way of truth will be maligned because of them.They will exploit you in their greed with made-up stories. Their condemnation, pronounced long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.

but test all things. Hold on to what is good.

I know your works. Look, I have placed before you an open door that no one can close because you have but little power; yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot.

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.So it is no great surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will be according to their works.

Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie comes from the truth.Who is the liar, if not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This one is the antichrist: the one who denies the Father and the Son.

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.

I know your works— your love, faithfulness, service, and endurance. I know that your last works are greater than the first.But I have this against you: You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat meat sacrificed to idols.I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to repent of her sexual immorality.

Then I will announce to them,‘ I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!’

We recall, in the presence of our God and Father, your work produced by faith, your labor motivated by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yet you do have this: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
