I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.

‘ I know what you are doing. You work long and hard. I know you can’t put up with evil people. You have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not. You have found out that they are liars.

“‘ I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

“ I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars.

I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.

亲爱的，不要每个灵都信，总要试验那些灵是否出于神，因为有许多假先知已经来到世上了。

从前在人民中，曾有假先知出来；照样，将来在你们中间，也必有假教师出现。他们偷偷把使人灭亡的异端引进来，甚至否认那曾经买赎他们的主，迅速地自取灭亡。许多人会随从他们的淫行，因此真理的道，就因他们的缘故被人毁谤。他们因为有贪心，就用捏造的话，想在你们身上图利；惩罚他们的，自古以来就没有松懈；毁灭他们的，也不会打盹。

凡事都要察验，好的要持守，

我知道你的行为，看哪！我已经在你面前给你一道开着的门，是没有人能关的；因为你有一点点力量，也遵守我的道，没有否认我的名。

我知道你的行为，你不冷也不热；我巴不得你或冷或热。

这样的人是假使徒，是诡诈的工人，装成基督的使徒。这并不希奇，因为撒但自己也装作光明的天使，所以，撒但的仆役装成公义的仆役，也不必大惊小怪。他们的结局必按他们所作的而定。

使我们不再作小孩子，中了人的诡计和骗人的手段，给异教之风摇撼，飘来飘去，

我写信给你们，不是因为你们不明白真理，而是因为你们明白，又因为谎言绝不会出于真理的。那么，谁是说谎的呢？不就是那否认耶稣是基督的吗？否认父和子的，他就是敌基督的。

因为耶和华看顾义人的道路，恶人的道路却必灭亡。

然而，神坚固的根基已经立定，上面刻着这样的印：“主认识属于他的人”和“凡称呼主名的人都应当离开不义”。

“你要写信给在撒狄教会的使者，说：‘那有神七灵和七星的这样说：我知道你的行为，你有名声，说你是活着的，其实你是死的。

其实那并不是另一个福音，只是有些搅扰你们的人，想把基督的福音改变。

因为神并不是不公义，以致忘记了你们的工作，和你们为他的名所表现的爱心，就是你们以前服事圣徒，现在还是服事他们。

我知道你的患难和贫穷，但你却是富足的。我也知道那些自称是犹太人所说毁谤的话，其实他们不是犹太人，而是撒但的党徒。

我知道你居住的地方，就是撒但王座所在的地方。当我忠心的见证人安提帕在你们那里，就是在撒但居住的地方被杀的那些日子，你还持守我的名，没有否认对我的信仰。然而有几件事我要责备你，因为在你那里有些人持守巴兰的教训。这巴兰曾经教导巴勒把绊脚石放在以色列人面前，叫他们吃祭过偶像的食物，并且行淫乱。同样，你也有些人持守尼哥拉党的教训。

我知道你的行为，你的爱心、信心、服侍和忍耐，也知道你后来所作的比先前的还要多。然而有一件事我要责备你，就是你容让那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别，教导和引诱我的众仆人行淫乱，吃祭过偶像的食物。我曾给她时间，让她悔改，她却不肯为她的淫行悔改。

但我必向他们声明：‘我从来不认识你们；你们这些作恶的人，离开我去吧！’

在我们的父神面前，不住地记念你们信心的工作，爱心的劳苦和因盼望我们主耶稣基督而有的坚忍。

不过你有这一个优点，就是你恨恶尼哥拉党的作为，那也是我所恨恶的。
