“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

“ Here is what I command you to write to the church in Ephesus. Here are the words of Jesus, who holds the seven stars in his right hand. He also walks among the seven golden lampstands. He says,

在他的右手中拿著七顆星；從他口中發出一把雙刃的利劍；他的面容好像烈日發光。

你所看見的，我右手中的七顆星，和這七座金燈臺的奧祕就是：七顆星是七個教會的使者，七座燈臺是七個教會。

說：「把你所看見的寫在書卷上，送到那七個教會：以弗所、士每拿、佩爾伽馬、錫亞蒂拉、薩迪斯、費拉德菲亞和勞迪西亞。」我轉過身，要看看誰的聲音對我說話。我轉過身就看見了七座金燈臺。燈臺中間有一位彷彿人子的，身穿垂到腳的長袍，胸間束著金帶。

「你要給那在薩迪斯教會的使者寫信說：「那位有神的七個靈和七顆星的，這樣說：我知道你的行為，你名義上是活的，其實你是死的。

「你要給那在佩爾伽馬教會的使者寫信說：「那位有雙刃利劍的，這樣說：

「你要給那在費拉德菲亞教會的使者寫信說：「那位神聖的、真實的，拿著大衛的鑰匙、開了就沒有人能關、關了就沒有人能開的，這樣說：

「你要給那在錫亞蒂拉教會的使者寫信說：「神的兒子，就是那位眼睛如火焰、兩腳彷彿精銅的，這樣說：

「你要給那在勞迪西亞教會的使者寫信說：「那位阿們，就是那信實的、真實的見證者，神創造之物的本源，這樣說：

「你要給士每拿教會的使者寫信說：「那位首先的、末後的，那位曾經死去又活過來的，這樣說：

因為哪裡有兩三個人奉我的名聚集，我就在哪裡，在他們當中。」

凡我所吩咐你們的，都教導他們遵守。看哪，我就天天都與你們同在，直到這世代的終結。」

第三位天使吹響號角，就有一顆像火把一樣燃燒著的大星，從天上墜落，落在江河的三分之一和眾水的泉源上。這顆星的名字叫「苦艾」。於是眾水的三分之一變為苦艾，許多人就因這水變苦而死去了。第四位天使吹響號角，太陽的三分之一、月亮的三分之一、星辰的三分之一都被擊打，以致它們的三分之一變黑了；於是白晝的三分之一沒有光，夜晚也是如此。

接著，天上出現了一個大徵兆：有一個婦人身披太陽，腳踏月亮，頭上戴著十二顆星的冠冕。

約翰是一盞燃燒發光的燈，你們情願在他的光裡快樂一時。
