我聽見了，卻不明白；我就說：『我主啊，這些事的結局怎麼樣呢？』他說：『但以理啊，去你的吧！因為這些話是已封閉又密封着、到末了時期的。必有許多人下工夫使自己清潔、自己潔白、成了熬煉透的；但是惡人必仍然作惡。一切惡人都不明白；惟獨通達人能明白。

但你呢、但以理啊，你要把這些話封閉着，把這卷書密封着、到末了時期。而大眾們卻要跑來跑去追求、使知識增長。』

你所看見的婦人就是那大城、那有國權管轄地上列王的。』

於是我在靈境中，天使把我帶走到荒野去。我看見有一個婦人騎着朱紅色的獸、滿了褻瀆之名、有七個頭和十個角。

誰是智慧人，讓他明白這些事吧！誰是明達人，讓他領會吧！因為永恆主的道路是正直的，義人行走於其中，違犯者卻跌倒於其上。
